As its name implies, the Beach District is composed solely of all 11 public high schools in Virginia Beach. It is also the largest district in terms of membership in the Virginia High School League. As a result in some sports, there are no non-district games, in particular for football, where there are only 10 games in the regular season.

Frank W. Cox High School is a secondary school located in the Great Neck subdivision of Virginia Beach, Virginia. It was founded in 1961 as the Northeast Junior High School, but upon opening, it was named after a former superintendent of Virginia Beach City Public Schools, Frank Woodard Cox, who led the school division from 1933 to 1968. A replacement building, also designated as a primary hurricane shelter, was built nearby, at 2425 Shorehaven Drive. The high school was moved into the new building in the fall of 1983. The original building at 1848 N. Great Neck Road became Great Neck Junior High and then Great Neck Middle School. The original building was demolished in 2012.

Princess Anne High School (PAHS) is one of 11 high schools in the Virginia Beach City Public School System. The school features, as its academy, the International Baccalaureate Programme. Opened in 1954, it is the oldest remaining high school in Virginia Beach, Virginia, United States. The school is named after the now extinct Princess Anne County, Virginia which was annexed with the founding of Virginia Beach. Princess Anne High School was slated to be demolished following the construction of a replacement building. Demolition and construction of a new building were slated to take place in 2024, but those plans have since been moved to 2043.
Floyd E. Kellam High School is a public high school in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Located in the city's southern section, in Princess Anne, the school first opened in 1962, named after Judge Floyd Eaton Kellam. Kellam High School serves a large portion of the city of Virginia Beach, with the attendance boundary extending south to the North Carolina border. Kellam High moved into a new facility in 2014.
Charles Klein Stobbs was an American professional baseball player. He played in Major League Baseball as a pitcher for the Boston Red Sox (1947–51), Chicago White Sox (1952), Washington Senators / Minnesota Twins and St. Louis Cardinals (1958). Stobbs is notable for being the pitcher who gave up an estimated 565-foot home run to Mickey Mantle that flew entirely out of Griffith Stadium in 1953. Mantle's 565-foot shot was regarded as the first tape-measure home run of the live-ball era.

The Group 6A South Region is a division of the Virginia High School League. Along with the 6A North Region, it consists of the largest high schools in Virginia. The region was formed in 2013 when the VHSL adopted a six classification format and eliminated the previous three classification system. For the purpose of regular season competition, schools compete within districts that existed prior to 2013, while post-season competition will be organized within four conferences that make up each region.
Pavin Joe Smith is an American professional baseball first baseman and right fielder for the Arizona Diamondbacks of Major League Baseball (MLB). He played college baseball for the Virginia Cavaliers. The Diamondbacks selected Smith in the 2017 MLB draft and he made his MLB debut in 2020.
Phillip Sims is an American football coach and former player. He played college football at Alabama, Virginia and Winston-Salem State. After going undrafted in the 2015 NFL Draft, Sims was signed by the Arizona Cardinals. He also played professionally for the Seattle Seahawks and the Saskatchewan Roughriders. In 2017, Sims was named the head football coach at John Marshall High School. He was previously the head football coach at J.R. Tucker High School. As of January 2023, he is currently the head football coach at Princess Anne High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
