Beacon Heights is a light rail station that is currently under construction. It will be part of the Purple Line in Maryland. The station will be located east of the intersection of Riverdale Road and 67th Avenue.
Light rail, light rail transit (LRT),, tram or fast tram is a form of urban rail transit using rolling stock similar to a tram, but operating at a higher capacity, and often on an exclusive right-of-way.
The Purple Line is a 16.2-mile (26.1 km) light rail line under construction to link the Maryland suburbs of Bethesda, Silver Spring, College Park, and New Carrollton, all in the Washington metropolitan area. The line will allow riders to move between the Maryland branches of the Red, Green, and Orange lines of the Washington Metro without needing to ride into central Washington, D.C., and will also offer transfers to all three lines of the MARC commuter rail system. The project is administered by the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA).
Maryland Route 410 (MD 410) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Maryland and known for most of its length as East–West Highway. The highway runs east to west for 13.92 miles (22.40 km)–from Pennsy Drive in Landover Hills to MD 355 in Bethesda.
The Beacon Heights station is expected to open to the public in 2022.

The 5 Lexington Avenue Express is a rapid transit service in the A Division of the New York City Subway. Its route emblem, or "bullet", is colored apple green since it uses the IRT Lexington Avenue Line in Manhattan.
The Red Line, sometimes known as the Howard-Dan Ryan Line or the North-South Line, is a rapid transit line in Chicago, run by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) as part of the Chicago "L" system. A proposed extension adding four new stations would extend the Red Line south from 95th/Dan Ryan to 130th Street.
MetroLink (METRO) is the Greater St. Louis Metropolitan mass transit system serving Missouri and the Metro East area of Illinois. The system consists of two lines connecting Lambert-St. Louis International Airport and Shrewsbury, Missouri with Scott Air Force Base near Shiloh, Illinois and Downtown St. Louis. The system features 38 stations. As of the first quarter of 2015, it is second only to Minneapolis Metro Transit's Blue and Green lines in the Midwestern United States in terms of ridership, and is the 11th-largest light rail system in the country.
The Blue Line, Green Line, and Waterfront Line are the light rail components of the RTA Rapid Transit, a rail transit system in greater Cleveland and Shaker Heights, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. The New Carrollton–Silver Spring Line, designated as Route F4, is a daily bus route operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority between New Carrollton station of the Orange Line of the Washington Metro and Silver Spring station of the Red Line of the Washington Metro. The line operates every 10–15 minutes during peak hours, 20–30 minutes during midday and evening service, 20–35 minutes on the weekends, and 60 minutes during late night service. F4 trips are roughly 62 minutes. The line mainly provides service on the East-West Highway corridor all the way from the eastern portion of Prince George's County all the way up to Montgomery County.
