The Beatbox House [1] is an American beatbox crew based in New York City originally consisting of six beatboxers. The Beatbox House has since its formation helped many beatboxers along their journey. [2]
The Beatbox House [3] began as a residence home in Brooklyn, New York for beatboxer Chris Celiz and Izzy Freedman who one day had an idea to create a place for beatboxers to connect and socialize. Beatboxers Mark Martin and Johnny Buffalo lived in the house and organized jam sessions and performances for beatboxers. Artists from worldwide locations would lodge in the house when traveling for shows. Eventually, beatboxers Neil Meadows of Pennsylvania, Kenny Urban of Connecticut, Amit Bhowmick, Kaila Mullady of New York City and Gene Shinozaki of Boston, met up along with Chris at the American Human Beatbox festival, joined the residency and decided to form an official group. They often do their performances busking in the subways and streets of New York City. [4]
Neil Meadows (known as NaPoM) is a beatboxer, [5] whose titles include: Grand Beatbox Battle Vice Champion (2016), Grand Beatbox Battle Champion (2017), Vice World Champion (2015), two-time American Beatbox Champion (2014, 2015), American Tag-team Champion (2014), Midwest Champion (2014) and two-time Unity Champion. His beatbox style involves his signature percussive sounds and extensive liproll techniques. He started beatboxing after high school, won the 2014 American beatbox championships at age 18 and was given the opportunity to compete at the Beatbox Battle World Championship where he earned his title as the Vice World Beatbox Champion (2015). [6] He is also known for his work with fellow Beatbox House member Kenny Urban as "K-POM". In 2018, he released a beatbox album "Lips" with Swissbeatbox. Napom is well-known for revolutionizing the use of different liproll techniques such as the inward liproll and sub-liproll bass.
Amit Bhowmick is a hip hop artist based in America who started beatboxing at the age of 14. Amit is originally from Bangladesh. His beatbox sound involves his extensive usage of technical beats and deep bass sounds. His title credits include Midwest Champion (2012) and East Coast Champion (2014). In 2018, he won Smash Sounds, the first ever hybrid Beatbox Battle & Super Smash Bros tournament. He is also known for his signature and original sound, the "OD Bass".
Gene Shinozaki is a beatbox musician from Boston, MA. [7] He began his music career attending Berklee College of Music, studying drumming as a major, before dropping out to pursue a career in beatboxing. His beatbox style involves his imitation of guitar power chords using lip oscillation techniques, his melodic sounds, and clicks. He often incorporates singer songwriter elements into his performances. He cites Bobby McFerrin as a primary influence to his sound. [8] He is a Grand Beatbox Battle Champion (2015), and with fellow Beatbox House member, Chris Celiz, won the titles of World Beatbox Tag-team Champion (2018), American Tag-team Champion (2015) and Grand Beatbox Battle Tag-team Champion (2018) as "Spiderhorse".
Chris Celiz, the founding member of the Beatbox House, is a beatboxer, musician and teacher. [9] He is the American Tag-team Champion (2015) together with Gene Shinozaki as the group "Spiderhorse". He is most known for his signature percussive grooves and harmonic sounds. He has done work for artists such as Harry Belafonte, Bryonn Bain, and Dana Leong. He is one of the top North American beatboxers, and with fellow Beatbox House member, Gene Shinozaki, won the titles of World Beatbox Tag-team Champion (2018) and Grand Beatbox Battle Tag-team Champion (2018) as "Spiderhorse".
Kenny Urban is an American beatboxer and singer, whose title credits include Grand Beatbox Champion (2016), Vice American Beatbox Champion (2015), American Tag-team Champion (2014) and two-time Unity Beatbox Champion. His beatbox style involves bass emphasized beats, synth sounds and extensive singing. He is a private beatbox instructor [10] and has also taught workshops in various schools such as Harvard University and The Raymond York Elementary School. Kenny is also a part of the beatbox tag-team "K-POM" together with NaPom.
Mark Martin (formerly Mandibul) is an American beatboxer, singer and teacher from Connecticut. Mark has won titles such as American Beatbox Champion (2016) and Human Beatbox Festival BeatRhyme Champion (2016). Mark is also currently a part of the tag team "Lightship" (formerly Power Couple) consisting of him and Kaila Mullady. Mark Martin left the beatbox house in 2018 together with his fellow tag-team member and girlfriend Kaila Mullady.
Kaila Mullady is an american beatboxer, beatrhyming champion, singer and rapper. Kaila holds the titles of Beatbox World Champion (2015, 2018) in the solo female category, three-time American Loopstation Champion, three-time reigning Beatrhyming Champion and Vice American Champion (2014). Kaila is an active beatboxer and has been a part of many different productions which includes but are not limited to the Broadway musical Freestyle Love Supreme (2019-2020). She is also a part of the tag team "Power Couple" and the beatbox duo "Light Ship," together with her boyfriend Mark Martin. Together with Mark she is also a teacher and the head director of the speech therapy project BEAT Global's Beatrocker program. Kaila also collaborates and performs together with her mentor Kid Lucky under the group name "The Adventures of Kaila and the Kid". Kaila is the producer of the American Beatbox Championships since 2016. Kaila left the Beatbox House together with her boyfriend and fellow tag-team member Mark Martin in 2018.
Beatboxing is a form of vocal percussion primarily involving the art of mimicking drum machines, using one's mouth, lips, tongue, and voice. It may also involve vocal imitation of turntablism, and other musical instruments. Beatboxing today is connected with hip-hop culture, often referred to as "the fifth element" of hip-hop, although it is not limited to hip-hop music. The term "beatboxing" is sometimes used to refer to vocal percussion in general.
Simon Shlomo Kahn, known professionally as SK Shlomo and previously as Shlomo, is a British singer-songwriter, beatboxer, music producer and live looping technologist.
Joel Turner is an Australian beatboxer, singer, songwriter, instrumentalist and record producer best known for the Australian hit song "These Kids". As a beatboxer, he is recognised for his trademark sounds such as his "third voice", cowbell, teeth beats and bass guitar. Alexander Deyanov, known as SkilleR, is a beatboxer from Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. Known as the 'fast mouth' from the East, 'Hip Hop Hrbacek', 'Dr. Leo Marvin', and 'Brainiac 14'; he has brought the art of beatboxing to mass attention in Bulgaria. In 2012, he was named the third Beatbox Battle World Champion in Berlin, defeating Alem of France in the final.
Kim Nocifs also known by his stage name K.I.M. is a French beatboxer, known for electronic and dubstep style beats. K.I.M. began beatboxing in 2007, making his international début in 2009 at the French Team Beatbox Championship. With his group Nocifs Sound System, K.I.M won the competition. He also won the same competition the following year. In 2011, K.I.M. won the French Beatbox Championship. He is now a member of Team Paname with their French slogan: "Le beatbox c’est mieux maintenant."
Terry Im, better known by his stage name KRNFX, is a Korean-Canadian beatboxer and singer. He is perhaps best known for his participation in the first season of Canada's Got Talent in 2012, as well as winning the first Canadian Beatbox Championships in 2010 and his YouTube videos.
Terry Lewis, also known by his stage name Kid Lucky, was an American beatrhymer, beatboxer, singer-songwriter, teacher, and activist born in New York City. He coined the term "beatrhyming", which he defines as "rapping, singing or performing spoken word while beatboxing simultaneously".

Kaila Mullady is an American beatboxer, beatrhymer, musician and actress. She won on Beatbox Battle World Championship 2015 & 2018 by category solo female. She is a former member of the Beatbox House crew. Kaila is a current member of the improv rap group Freestyle Love Supreme under the name Kaizer Roze.
Gene V Shinozaki, better known as Gene Shinozaki and formerly GVSBeatbox, is a Japanese-American beatboxer, singer-songwriter, street performer, multi-instrumentalist, and music producer. He is currently a member of the beatbox crew Beatbox House and half of the world-champion tag team Spider Horse.
The Beatbox Battle World Championship (BBBWC) is hosted triennially hosted by Beatbox Battle Tv in a week-long festival held in Berlin, Germany. Face-to-face beatbox battles take place in five different categories:- individual male, individual female, tag-team, loop station and crew battle. In 2015, more than 150 national or major event champions of beatboxing gathered from 50 or so countries, after qualifying to participate in the world event by winning their respective national championships.
Berywam is a French beatbox crew based in Toulouse, France. They won the French Beatbox Championship 2016. Their EP was released on 2 June 2017. They also won the Beatbox Battle World Championship 2018 in crew category.
The Grand Beatbox Battle is an annual international beatboxing competition hosted by Swissbeatbox. The competition holds multiple tournaments for different forms and categories of beatboxing which include: Solo, Loopstation, Tag Team, Crew, Tag Team Loopstation, Producer and Under 18.
Yoon Dae-woong, better known as Bigman, is a South Korean beatboxer, singer-songwriter, composer and producer. Bigman is perhaps best known as Top 8 in the Asia Beatbox Championship 2017, as well as got to viral from his wildcard winner video in upload YouTube. Bigman officially signed under Sidus HQ and made his debut with released single album DAY BY DAY on May 31, 2019.
Maël Gayaud, better known as Alem is a French beatboxer. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest beatboxer of his generation as well as one of the best technical beatboxer in the world.
Dan Lowes, better known as D-low, is an English beatboxer. He was inspired to start beatboxing after watching Beardyman performing it.
Sota Kato, better known as SO-SO is a Japanese beatboxer, looper, singer-songwriter and producer. He is currently a member of the beatbox crew SARUKANI.
