Beautiful Life Television (BLTV), known as Buddha's Light Television from 1997 to 2002, is a non-profit, faith-based television station in Taiwan owned by the Fo Guang Shan Dharma TV Foundation and founded by the Buddhist master Hsing Yun in 1997. [1] It is one of several Buddhist-based TV channels in Taiwan, the others being Da Ai Television, Hwazan Television, Buddha Compassion Television, Life Television and Universal Culture Television. [2]

Buddha's birthday is a Buddhist festival and holiday celebrated in most of East Asia commemorating the birth of the Prince Siddhartha Gautama, later the Gautama Buddha and founder of Buddhism. In English translations of Buddhist texts, householder denotes a variety of terms. Most broadly, it refers to any layperson, and most narrowly, to a wealthy and prestigious familial patriarch. In contemporary Buddhist communities, householder is often used synonymously with laity, or non-monastics.

Faith in Buddhism Important element of the teachings of the Buddha

In Buddhism, faith refers to a serene commitment to the practice of the Buddha's teaching and trust in enlightened or highly developed beings, such as Buddhas or bodhisattvas. Buddhists usually recognize multiple objects of faith, but many are especially devoted to one in particular, such as one particular Buddha. Bodagama Chandima was born on 3 February 1957 at Thanamalwila in southern Sri Lanka. As of 2015 he taught Theravada Buddhism in Taiwan. With a group of Taiwanese Buddhists, he founded the Theravada Samadhi Education Association in Taipei.
