Beautiful Suicide is the second studio album from British darkwave band Massive Ego. It was released as a double-disc album on the label Out of Line Music. It is the debut album for both the label, and the new lineup of the band. [2]
The album was recorded throughout 2016, with many tracks also performed live throughout the year, including "Let Go", written by Boy George, a friend of Marc Massive. This would later be announced as the lead single for the album, with a video being recorded in January 2017. Other tracks such as "Drag Me In, Drag Me Under" and "Out of Line" were released on the Out of Line compilation series Electrostorm Vol. 6 and on the Electronic Saviours compilation series Electronic Saviors: Industrial Music to Cure Cancer Vol. 4, respectively. Each being an exclusive mix for each of the compilations.
Older tracks such as "Low Life", originally a collaboration with Empire State Human prior to signing to Out of Line Music, was completely re-recorded for the new album. There are four tracks that have featured vocalists: "For the Blood in Your Veins" featuring label mates Blutengel's Chris Pohl; "Haters Gonna Hate", with German gothic rapper Belzebub; Maggie K DeMonde of Scarlet Fantastic on "Low Life"; and Gene Serene (who has collaborated with Lloyd Price's side project The Frixion) takes the place of Holly Pearl on a new version of "Out of Line".
The album's prologue, "Ghost in My Dream", was written by Price, and samples an interview of Nick Rhodes. The orchestral epilogue was written by Scot Collins, based on the track "I Idolize You". A cover of Hazel O'Connor's "Eighth Day" was recorded for the album, but was then removed from the final track listing. [3]
Prior to the album, Massive Ego had remixed songs for Blutengel and Chrom, who are both on Out of Line Music, and British electronic group Nature of Wires. In return, they remixed tracks that were included on the album.
The title of the album, Beautiful Suicide, was announced in a Christmas message from the band through their social media accounts. [4] The title was originally inspired by a photo by Robert C. Wiles called The Most Beautiful Suicide. The photo shows Evelyn McHale, a young woman of 23, who jumped from the observation deck of the Empire State Building in 1947, landing on a car. [5]
Photography for the album cover and booklet was done by '80s photographer David Levine and SuicideGirls model Honey Manko, who featured in the video for "I Idolize You" in December 2016. The booklet contains a dedication to ex-bandmember Steady (Eddie Orange Dasher), of whom the song "Low Life" was written about. The album was mastered by Chris Pohl and Mario Rühlicke at Fear in Motion Productions, Berlin. The release date was announced when the album was made available through Out of Line Music's website. To celebrate a year since the release of Beautiful Suicide, the band released Nothing But A Void via their Bandcamp page. It featured two previously unreleased tracks from the album's recording sessions: Eighth Day and the Brando remix of Let Go. [7]

Blutengel is a German electronic music group formed by singer Chris Pohl after he had to leave Seelenkrank due to contractual and legal problems. The lyrics are written primarily in German and English and are presented with male and female vocals. The themes of the songs usually centre around themes common in Gothic fiction such as love, vampirism, sexual fetishism, death, and immortality. The band calls their musical style dark pop.
Diary of Dreams is a German darkwave band. The lead singer and founding member Adrian Hates has produced most of the albums by himself or with minimal help from others. He rarely uses a full band, except when on tour.

"If I Didn't Love You" is the ninth track from Squeeze's album, Argybargy. The song, written by Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford, features lyrics about the early stages of a relationship and the insecurity that comes with it. The song has vocals and a slide guitar solo by Tilbrook.
Black Symphonies is an orchestral compilation album from German futurepop band Blutengel. It was promoted as a classical 'best of'.
Nemesis: The Best of & Reworked is a best of compilation album, from the German futurepop band Blutengel. All the tracks on the first disc are re-recorded. The deluxe edition second disc features songs released between 2005 and 2015. In the collectors box set, there is also a DVD of all the music videos released to date.
Weg Zu Mir was released as a preview for Nemesis on their 2015 In Alle Ewigkeit EP. All tracks are taken from all albums and EPs, with the exception of Demon Kiss.
Two lyric videos were released, Children of the Night (Reworked) preceding the release by a week, and Soul of Ice (Reworked) on the day of the album's release. On 19 February, Children of the Night (Reworked) was also made available to download from the album.
In Alle Ewigkeit(In All Eternity) is the fourth EP, from the German futurepop band Blutengel. Weg Zu Mir is a reworking of a track from their first album Child of Glass, and was released as a preview for Nemesis, their 2016 best of compilation album. A video was released for Kinder der Sterne, which featured Meinhard, who released a version of the same song on his album Alchemusic II: Coagula which featured BlutEngel. There are two collaborations with dark-dance act Grenzgænger, and two demos of songs from Monument.
Leitbild is the tenth studio album from German futurepop band Blutengel, released on 17 February 2017. It was released as a single CD, two-disc digipak with a bonus disc, and a collector's edition box set with the two disc album and a shaped MCD that features a rework of "Anders Sein" plus two songs off Leitbild in symphonic and acoustic versions. It also has two disc audiobook of Chris Pohl's Lebe Deinen Traum.
Massive Ego are a British Darkwave musical group formed in 1996 by singer and ex-model, Marc Massive and Andy J Thirwall. The band has changed its sound and image since its formation. The original releases being mostly covers in a Eurodance, Hi-NRG style. Massive and Thirwall later parted ways, and Massive searched for a new musical direction for the band. Collaborations with Empire State Human and Lia Organa & Electric Prince were the start of a darker sound for the band. The band joined alternative German label Out of Line Music in 2015 with the line-up; Marc Massive, Oliver Frost, Lloyd Price and Scot Collins. Their debut album for Out of Line was released on 17 February 2017. The current themes of the songs centre around the darker side of life, depression and anxiety, death, suicide, love, sex and vampirism.
Noise in the Machine is the second EP by the British Darkwave band Massive Ego. It was the first release by the band's new label Out of Line Music, on 24 July 2015 and was a change from the old Euro dance sound of the band. It includes remixed versions of "I Idolize You", "Dead Silence" and "Generation V" by the new band member Lloyd Price ("Frixion"), Aesthetic Perfection and Leæther Strip, as well as the Zarkoff remix of "Low Life".
Low Life is the first EP from British darkwave band Massive Ego. It was a collaboration with the Irish electronic group Empire State Human. It was released on Marc Massive's own independent label, Public Disordar Records, on 20 October 2014.
"I Idolize You" is the fifth single from British Darkwave band Massive Ego. It was written by Massive and Thirwall. It was the first release for the band on Marc Massive's own independent label, Public Disordar Records, on 15 August 2011. The single marked the departure from the Hi-NRG, Eurodance sound of the band's previous releases.
Master & Servant is a compilation album by dance band Massive Ego. It consists of eleven of twelve tracks from the album Nite Klub Skewl plus three more new tracks, including the single Sex Drive. A music video was made for the Lia Organa & Electric Prince remix of Master And Servant and was planned for a release as a single, but the single remained unreleased until 2010 as a double A side with Sex Drive.
Nite Klub Skewl is the debut album by dance band Massive Ego. It features the band's three earlier singles, and is composed mostly of covers. It also has songs written by the band, such as Murder which had been released as a radio edit on the My Heart Goes Bang single. Two music videos were released to promote the album; Supernature and Planet Earth .
Church For the Malfunctioned is the third studio album from British darkwave band Massive Ego. It is the second album released on the label Out of Line Music. It marks the first recording of the band as a trio with a heavier and darker style than their previous album.
