Bedford is an unincorporated community in eastern Livingston County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. [1]
The community is on Missouri Route J four miles northeast of Avalon. The Grand River flows past the north side of the community and the Fountain Grove Conservation Area is two miles east. [2]
Bedford was laid out in 1839. [3] A post office called Bedford was established in 1858, and remained in operation until 1931. [4]
Livingston County is a county located in the northwestern portion of the U.S. state of Missouri. As of the 2020 census, the population was 14,557. Its county seat is Chillicothe. The county was organized January 6, 1837, and named for U.S. Secretary of State Edward Livingston.
Avalon is an unincorporated community in southern Livingston County, Missouri, United States. It is located on Missouri Route H, approximately one mile east of U.S. Route 65 and ten miles southeast of Chillicothe.
