Being Mrs Elliot is a 2014 Nigerian romantic comedy film, co-produced and directed by Omoni Oboli. It stars Majid Michel, Omoni Oboli, Ayo Makun, Sylvia Oluchy and Seun Akindele. It premiered at Nollywood Film Festival in Paris on 5 June 2014. [1] It received 6 nominations at the 2014 Best of Nollywood Awards and was also nominated in 9 categories at the 2014 Golden Icons Academy Movie Awards taking place in October.

Production

The film was shot in Lagos, Ekiti and Asaba. [2] In an interview with Encomium Magazine, Oboli stated that she expects to make 200 million Naira from the film. [3]

Reception

The movie is seen as a repeat of another of the producer's movies, with the same male lead role in fact. It is Opined by Pulse movie Review that Brother's keeper and Being Mrs. Elliot have too much in common and is regarded as a counterproductive move. [4]

Release

The film was screened at the Nigerian Presidential Complex with many dignitaries in attendance including president Goodluck Jonathan and vice-president Namadi Sambo. [5] [6] It had its world premiere on 30 August 2014 at Silverbird Galleria, Victoria Island, Lagos and was released theatrically across Nigeria on 5 September. [7] [8]

The 2014 Best of Nollywood Awards was the 6th edition of the Best of Nollywood Awards ceremony, and took place in Port Harcourt, Nigeria on October 16, 2014. The event was hosted by Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi and Fred Amata with special performances from Wizkid and Okey Bakassi.

The 2014 Golden Icons Academy Movie Awards is scheduled to hold at Stafford Center on October 25. The event will be hosted by comedian, Julius Agwu.

The film is centered around a married couple who run against each other for governor in the same state.

My Wife & I, is a 2017 Nigerian comedy family film directed by Bunmi Ajakaiye and co-produced by Moses Babatope, Kene Mkparu, Kene Okwuosa, Zulu Onuekwusi, Chinaza Onuzo and Isioma Osaje. The film stars Ramsey Nouah and Omoni Oboli with Dorcas Shola-Fapson, Bimbo Ademoye, and Lilian Afegbai in supporting roles. The film tells the story of Toyosi and Ebere, an unhappily married couple on the brink of a divorce, but later change their marital status further high.

My Mirror is a 2021 Nigerian movie produced by Jumoke Odetola and directed by Gboyega Ashowo. The movie addresses the different kinds of abuse suffered by men and it stars Seun Akindele, Odunlade Adekola and Afeez Owo.
