Bellefontaine is an unincorporated community in Washington County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. [1]

History

A variant name was "Bellefountaine". [1] Bellefontaine took its name from nearby Bellefontaine Lead Mine. [2] The community once had Bellefontaine Schoolhouse, now defunct. [3]
