Bellmer Dolls is a New York-based post-punk band.
Named after the life-sized mannequins of German Surrealist Hans Bellmer, [1] the group was founded in 2003 by Peter Mavrogeorgis after finishing a 3-year stint as guitarist for Tav Falco's Panther Burns. The band's earliest incarnation featured fellow Tav Falco-alumnus Douglas Hodges, and bassist Benjamin Cerf. The lineup changed just months after the band's inception, with Cerf being replaced by Anthony Malat, formerly of the bands Love Life, Universal Order of Armageddon, and The Great Unraveling. Hodges was soon after replaced by percussionist Daniel Sheerin. [2]
Mavrogeorgis's past collaborations include Dame Darcy (Peter is accredited as producer and collaborator on "Dame Darcy's Greatest Hits", 2005, Bop Tart Records), Michael Gira's Angels of Light, Alice Texas (Peter is credited as guitarist in all published releases), and Jim Sclavunos's The Vanity Set (Peter is credited on all releases from the band's second album, Little Stabs of Happiness, to the latest EP single, "Sheep May Safely Graze").
A self-produced EP entitled Never Sates Nor Palls was released in late 2004. It includes early versions of the songs "The Diva", "There Is No Oblivion", and "Every Angel Is a Terror". The CD-only EP was re-released by New York's Dogprint Records in a limited edition pressing (666 hand-numbered copies), which featured a gatefold-sleeve color reproduction of a painting by Polish-born artist Angelika Miodek.
The band's second EP entitled The Big Cats Will Throw Themselves Over, released on Hungry Eye Records, was recorded alongside producer Jim Sclavunos who had produced for Sonic Youth, The Cramps, 8-Eyed Spy, and Teenage Jesus and the Jerks. Sclavunos also produced gypsy punks Gogol Bordello and London-based garage rock revivalists The Horrors. The EP featured newly recorded versions of "The Diva", "There Is No Oblivion", and "Every Angel Is a Terror", with additional tracks "Push! Push!", "L'Condition Humaine", and "Pictures".
After a brief European tour during November and December 2006, the band returned to the studio with Jim Sclavunos in early 2007 to record their first full-length LP (which has not yet been scheduled for release, as of June 2008). [3]

The Gun Club were an American post-punk band from Los Angeles, California, United States, which existed from 1979 to 1996. Created and led by singer-songwriter and guitarist Jeffrey Lee Pierce, they were notable as one of the first bands in the punk rock subculture to incorporate influences from blues, rockabilly, and country music. The Gun Club has been called a "tribal psychobilly blues" band, as well as initiators of the punk blues sound cowpunk - "He (Pierce) took Robert Johnson and pre-war acoustic blues and 'punkified' it. Up until then bands were drawing on Iggy + The Stooges and the New York Dolls but he took it back so much further for inspiration."
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds are an Australian rock band formed in 1983 by vocalist Nick Cave, multi-instrumentalist Mick Harvey and guitarist-vocalist Blixa Bargeld. The band has featured international personnel throughout its career and presently consists of Cave, violinist and multi-instrumentalist Warren Ellis, bassist Martyn P. Casey, guitarist George Vjestica, keyboardist/percussionist Toby Dammit and drummers Thomas Wydler (Switzerland) and Jim Sclavunos. Described as "one of the most original and celebrated bands of the post-punk and alternative rock eras in the '80s and onward", they have released seventeen studio albums and completed numerous international tours.
Darcy Megan Stanger, better known by the pen name Dame Darcy is an alternative cartoonist, fine artist, musician, cabaret performer, and animator/filmmaker. Her "Neo-Victorian" comic book series Meat Cake was published by Fantagraphics Books from 1993–2008. The Meat Cake Bible compilation was released in June 2016 and nominated for The Eisner Award July 2017. Vegan Love: Dating and Partnering for the Cruelty-Free Gal, with Fashion, Makeup & Wedding Tips, written by Maya Gottfried and illustrated by Dame Darcy, was the Silver Medalist winners of the Independent Publisher Book Awards in 2018. Her self-published Tarot decks went viral world wide in 2012 with a second wave in 2018 for the Dame Darcy Mermaid Tarot Gold Edition deck and Queen Alice Tarot deck and were listed as Etsy Bestsellers in 2018. Dame Darcy's autobiographical graphic novel, Hi Jax & Hi Jinx , was published by Feral House in 2018.
James Sclavunos is an American drummer, multi-instrumentalist musician, record producer, and writer. He is best known as a drummer, having been a member of two seminal no wave groups in the late 1970s. He is also noted for stints in Sonic Youth and the Cramps, and has been a member of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds since 1994. Sclavunos has led his own group the Vanity Set since 2000.
Tav Falco's Panther Burns, sometimes shortened to (The) Panther Burns, is a rock band originally from Memphis, Tennessee, United States, led by Tav Falco. They are best known for having been part of a set of bands emerging in the late 1970s and early 1980s who helped nationally popularize the blending of blues, country, and other American traditional music styles with rock music among groups playing in alternative music and punk music venues of the time. The earliest and most renowned of these groups to imbue these styles with expressionist theatricality and primitive spontaneity were The Cramps, largely influenced by rockabilly music. Forming just after them in 1979, Panther Burns drew on obscure country blues music, Antonin Artaud's works like The Theater and Its Double, beat poetry, and Marshall McLuhan's media theories for their early inspiration. Alongside groups like The Cramps and The Gun Club, Panther Burns ranked among the contributing influences and progenitors of the Southern Gothic-tinged roots music revival scene that arose during the last two decades of the 20th century and continued into the early 2000s.
Gustavo Antonio "Tav" Falco is an American-born musical performer, performance artist, actor, filmmaker, and photographer. He has led the psychedelic rock-and-roll group Tav Falco's Panther Burns since 1979. He moved to Europe in the late 1990s. Since 2002, he has been touring with his new Panther Burns group, which includes musicians from Paris and Rome.
Boss Hog is an American punk blues band including the husband and wife duo of Jon Spencer (guitar) and Cristina Martinez (vocals) along with Jens Jurgensen (bass), Hollis Queens (drums) and Mickey Finn (keyboard). The band achieved some notoriety, not only due to their abrasive sound, but more to Martinez's confrontational use of nudity on the band's record sleeves. In their 27-year history, the band's releases have been relatively sporadic, but comprised four full-length albums, a mini-album, three EP's and several singles. Captain Oi! Records is a punk rock and Oi! record label based in High Wycombe, England. The company has released over 300 albums by many notable punk and Oi! bands of the late 1970s and 1980s. The label was set up by Mark Brennan, former bassist of The Business, who had previously co-run Link Records and the Dojo subsidiary of Castle Records. Brennan's inspiration had been Ace Records, with Captain Oi! targeted at being "the Ace Records of retro punk rock", reissuing material by classic punk bands.
Zombina and the Skeletones are a horror punk band from Liverpool, England, formed in 1998 around the nucleus of vocalist Zombina and songwriter Doc Horror. As of 2021, their last recording was a self-released EP in 2017, and their official website is dismantled.

Beneath Oblivion is an American four-piece Cincinnati, Ohio-based doom metal band. Since forming in 2003 they have released a demo in 2004, a full-length album in 2006, a 10" split in 2007, a self-titled 10" EP in 2009, a 7" split and a 2xLP in 2011. They are said to have the loud and heavy elements of sludge American underground, with DIY/punk ideas, ethics and touring style; Open minded to many different forms of music, sound and experimentation, but with more European funeral doom and death metal influences than anything.
How to Destroy Angels (HTDA) is an American post-industrial supergroup formed in 2009 by Nine Inch Nails members Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross alongside Reznor's wife Mariqueen Maandig and longtime Nine Inch Nails collaborator Rob Sheridan. The group is named after a 1984 Coil EP of the same name. Alessandro Cortini joined the lineup for the duration of the 2013 tour.
