Painter was raised in Nakhon Sawan, Thailand and learned to cook in her grandmother's restaurant there, starting at age 6. [4] [5] [6] [7] She worked in Bangkok restaurants before meeting her husband and moving to the United States with him. [5] [8]

Painter moved to Houston in 2015. [1] [4] She worked at SaltAir and at Justin Yu's Theodore Rex; missing food from Thailand that wasn't adjusted for American tastes, she started opening popups. [9] [3] [6] [7]

Painter and her husband, Graham Painter, opened Street to Kitchen, a restaurant serving Thai street food, in Houston's Greater East End neighborhood in 2020. [2] [1] The couple also co-owns Th Prsrv in Kemah, Texas. [1]

Kevin Gillespie is an American chef, author and former Top Chef contestant. He is a former co-owner and executive chef at Woodfire Grill in Atlanta. He opened Gunshow, a restaurant in Atlanta, in 2013 and Revival, a restaurant in Decatur, Georgia, in 2015. Gillespie also started Red Beard Restaurants, allowing Gillespie to expand and provide consulting services to other start-ups. Kevin Gillespie's Gamechanger opened in August 2017 on the 200 concourse western end zone of the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. In May 2024, Gillespie opened Nadair in Atlanta, a restaurant showcasing his Scottish heritage.

Naomi Pomeroy is a professional chef and restaurateur. In an interview, Pomeroy explains that she began cooking at the age of three and created her first recipe at the age of four. She graduated from Lewis & Clark College in 1997 with a degree in history. Pomeroy has no formal culinary or business training; she developed her skills by watching other food-industry professionals. In 2007, she opened the restaurant Beast in Portland, Oregon. Previously, she started Gotham Tavern, Gotham Coffee shop, and ClarkLewis restaurant with Michael Hebb. In 2013, Working Mother magazine featured an article which details Pomeroy's experiences as a working single parent.
