The Bermuda Civil Aviation Authority (BCAA) is the civil aviation authority of Bermuda. It has its headquarters in St. George's. [2]
The body is organised into four departments, namely Airworthy, Operations, Flight Operations, and Administration. [1] As of March 2012 [update] , Thomas Dunstan is the Director. [1]
First established in 1931, its name was changed from Bermuda Department of Civil Aviation in October 2016. The Authority is responsible for overseeing safety regulations for all aircraft registered in Bermuda, including both private and commercial aircraft. It is a member of the Convention on International Civil Aviation. [4]
General aviation (GA) covers all civil aviation aircraft operations with the exception of commercial air transport or aerial work. General aviation thus represents the private transport component of aviation.

An aviation accident is defined by the Convention on International Civil Aviation Annex 13 as an occurrence associated with the operation of an aircraft, which takes place from the time any person boards the aircraft with the intention of flight until all such persons have disembarked, and in which a) a person is fatally or seriously injured, b) the aircraft sustains significant damage or structural failure, or c) the aircraft goes missing or becomes completely inaccessible. Annex 13 defines an aviation incident as an occurrence, other than an accident, associated with the operation of an aircraft that affects or could affect the safety of operation.
L.F. Wade International Airport, formerly named Bermuda International Airport, is the sole airport serving the British overseas territory of Bermuda in the North Atlantic Ocean. It is located in the parish of St. George's and is 6 NM northeast of Bermuda's capital, Hamilton. In 2016, L.F. Wade International Airport handled about 402,925 passengers, up 5.6% from 2006. It has one passenger terminal, one cargo terminal, eight aircraft stands and can support all aircraft sizes up to and including the Airbus A380. Currently, seven airlines operate seasonal or year-round scheduled services to Bermuda Airport from Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Begumpet Airport in Hyderabad, also known as Hyderabad Old Airport, is a civil enclave located in Begumpet. The airport is home to the Rajiv Gandhi Aviation Academy (RGAA), the Telangana State Aviation Academy and the Begumpet Air Force Station of the Indian Air Force. Begumpet used to be the only international airport of Hyderabad until the opening of Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on 23 March 2008, which ceased all commercial operations. Final and last flight to take off was a Singapore Airlines flight at 23:40 on 22 March 2008.
