Bernardo de la Garza

Bernardo de la Garza Herrera (born October 14, 1970 in Mexico City) is a Mexican politician and former candidate for the Partido Verde Ecologista de México (PVEM, "Ecologist Green Party of Mexico") in the 2006 presidential election. He is married to Ana María de la Garza and has one son and one daughter.

He graduated from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Studies with a bachelor's degree in accountancy, received a master's degree in management from the University of California at Los Angeles and specialized in finance at the Autonomous Technology Institute of Mexico (ITAM).

De la Garza served in the Chamber of Deputies during the LVIII Legislature (2000 2003), In 2003 he was elected to the Legislative Assembly of the Federal District via the proportional representation. On November 12, 2005, the PVEM formally elected him as its candidate to the 2006 presidential election, though he resigned on December 5 when the PVEM allied with the PRI. The candidate for both parties was Roberto Madrazo.

In 2009 De la Garza was designated by Alonso Lujambio as the head of the CONADE (Spanish acronym for Comisión Nacional del Deporte y Cultura Física). [1]

Rodolfo Torre Cantú was a Mexican physician and politician. He held a number of public offices, such as Federal deputy, Secretary of Health of Tamaulipas and Director-general of the DIF in Ciudad Victoria. While running for governor of Tamaulipas as the candidate of the PRI, he was assassinated, apparently by agents of a drug cartel. Torre was murdered alongside a Tamaulipas lawmaker, Enrique Blackmore, on 28 June 2010 near Ciudad Victoria, which is approximately three hours south of Brownsville, Texas. Felipe Calderón promised a full investigation, saying, "the fight against drug cartels must continue". He further stated, "This was an act not only against a candidate of a political party but against democratic institutions, and it requires a united and firm response from all those who work for democracy." Torre's assassination is the "highest-profile case of political violence" in Mexico since the murder of Luis Donaldo Colosio.

Rosalinda López Hernández was a Mexican politician. She held membership in the party Movimiento Regeneración Nacional (Morena), after earlier having belonged to the Party of the Democratic Revolution. She occupied the posts of local deputy, federal deputy and federal senator for Tabasco, and in Andrés Manuel López Obrador's government she was the Administrator General of Fiscal Audit of the Servicio de Administración Tributaria.
