Bernie Grundman (born 16 December 1943, Minneapolis) is an American audio engineer. [1]

He is most known for his mastering work and his studio, Bernie Grundman Mastering, which he opened in 1984 in Hollywood. The studio, which includes engineers Chris Bellman, Patricia Sullivan, Joe Bozzi, and Mike Bozzi, mastered 37 projects which received Grammy Award nominations in 2005. In 1997 he opened a studio in Tokyo. [2]

Grundman and his studio have both won numerous TEC Awards, including Best Mastering Facility and several production awards. [3]

Previously, Grundman worked for Lester Koenig at Contemporary Records and then was head of the A&M Records mastering department in Los Angeles. Now his studio also has been established in Tokyo, Japan with engineer Yasuji Maeda.

Klinghoffer took the place of his friend and frequent collaborator John Frusciante in 2009, after a period as a touring member. Ryan Hewitt is an American music producer, engineer and mixer known for his work with the Lumineers, Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Avett Brothers, the Chicks, Third Eye Blind, Jamie Cullum, John Frusciante and the Turnpike Troubadours. Hewitt is a Grammy Award winner having received the accolade for mixing and engineering Red Hot Chili Peppers' ninth studio album Stadium Arcadium. The album received seven Grammy nominations and won in the categories of Best Rock Album and Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package. He is currently based in Nashville, Tennessee.

Chris Bellman is an American mastering engineer. He started working at Allen Zentz Mastering and, since 1984, he began working at Bernie Grundman Mastering studios. He received a Grammy Award for Best Surround Sound Album nomination at the 51st Annual Grammy Awards for Ringo Starr's Ringo 5.1: The Surround Sound Collection in 2009, and the following year was nominated for a Grammy Award for Album of the Year at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards for the Black Eyed Peas' The E.N.D.. He won his first Grammy Award for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards for his mastering duties on Beck's Colors in 2019, sharing the award with fellow mastering engineers Randy Merrill, Emily Lazar and Tom Coyne.
