The Alaska Legislature is the state legislature of the U.S. state of Alaska. It is a bicameral institution consisting of the 40-member Alaska House of Representatives and the 20-member Alaska Senate. There are 40 House Districts (1–40) and 20 Senate Districts (A–T). With a total of 60 lawmakers, the Alaska Legislature is the smallest bicameral state legislature in the United States and the second-smallest of all state legislatures. There are no term limits for either chamber. The Alaska Legislature meets in the Alaska State Capitol in Juneau, Alaska. The current sitting is the 32nd Alaska State Legislature.

It convenes in the Alaska State Capitol in Juneau, Alaska and is responsible for making laws and confirming or rejecting gubernatorial appointments to the state cabinet, commissions and boards.

Bert Stedman is a Republican member of the Alaska Senate. A fourth generation Alaskan, he was born in Anchorage and spent his childhood between Petersburg and Sitka. He was a member of the Alaska House of Representatives from 1986 through 1990, and from 1993 through 1994.
Lyda N. Green is a retired educator and Republican politician in the U.S. state of Alaska. Green, as a political newcomer, was elected to the Alaska Senate in 1994, defeating a 22-year Democratic incumbent in a district representing most of the population of the Matanuska-Susitna Borough. Two Democratic members of the Alaska House of Representatives, also from the Matanuska-Susitna Valley, were defeated in the same election. Green served a total of fourteen years in the Senate and was its president in her final two years in office.
Lesil Lynn McGuire is an American politician in the state of Alaska. She served as a Republican member of the Alaska Senate from 2007 until 2017, after her tenure as a member of the Alaska House of Representatives from 2000 through 2006. She served Senate District N until redistricting in 2012 placed her in District K for 2013.
Gary Lee Stevens is a Republican member of the Alaska Senate, representing the C District since his appointment in February 2003. He was previously a member of the Alaska House of Representatives from 2001 through 2003. Stevens was Senate President for four years, from 2009 through 2012, leading a bipartisan coalition of 10 Democrats and six Republicans. He will again serve as Senate President from 2023 onwards, leading a bipartisan coalition of 9 Democrats and 8 Republicans.

"Beth" Kerttula is a Democratic former member of the Alaska House of Representatives, representing the 3rd District from 1998 to her resignation at the start of the legislative session in 2014. Sam Kito III was appointed to serve the remainder of her term. She served as the House Minority Leader from 2006 until her resignation, when she was succeeded by Chris Tuck. She resigned on the first day of the 2014 legislative session to accept a fellowship at the Center for Ocean Solutions at Stanford University, her alma mater. She was appointed as Director of the National Oceans Council, under President Barack Obama, on June 5, 2014. She was the daughter of Joyce and state senator Jalmar M. Kerttula. Her father represented the Matanuska-Susitna Valley in the Alaska legislature for most of the period between 1961 and 1995 and served as the Senate President.

From 2015 to the end of her tenure, Reinbold was the only member of the Alaska State Legislature unaffiliated with a caucus organization, as she was ejected from the Republican-led majority caucus in March 2015.

Olga Katherine Torkelsen Hurley served as the Secretary to Alaska Territorial Governor Ernest Gruening from 1944 until his departure from office in 1953. She was Chief Clerk to the Alaska Constitutional Convention from 1955 to 1956 and the secretary to the State Senate for five terms. In 1984, she was elected to seat 16-A in the Alaska house, serving until January 1987.
