Bestha is a major caste in Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh in southern India. [1] The major occupation of this community is fishing and boating.

The Bestha population in Telangana are much involved with fish farming in tanks and lakes. [1] [2] [3]

The image of Lord Rishabhanatha, carved of a green stone has been historically famous as "Manikyaswami" and Jivantasvami.
