Bettina Bush, known professionally as Bettina, is an American actress and pop music singer.

Early life

She was born the youngest of three children. Her father was Charles V. Bush, the first African-American graduate of the US Air Force Academy and later a business executive, and her mother was of Scottish-Polynesian and Cherokee descent. [1]

Voice acting

Bettina's professional career began at the age of 5 when she began modeling and acting. [2] Her acting career eventually led to voiceovers, including My Little Pony (as Megan), The Get Along Gang (as Dotty Dog), The Littles (as Lucy Little), Rugrats , All Grown Up! , Stargate Infinity , Ben 10 (as Kai Green), Age of Empires III (as Nonahkee), God Hand (as Olivia), [3] and is perhaps best known as the voice of Rainbow Brite and as the voice of Gloria in the Madagascar video games. She has also performed the McDonald's "I'm Lovin' It" commercial jingles. [4] She starred as Maria, a teenage Native American girl, in the film Journey to Spirit Island (1988).

Musical career

Her early influences in music include Dolly Parton and Elton John. [5] Bettina's early singing talents can be heard on the title sing "Gift of Love" as the voice/singing voice of Rainbow Brite by Disneyland/Vista Records in 1985, and in the song "Make Room for a Rainbow Inside" again as voice/singing voice of Rainbow Brite in the Rainbow Brite Paint a Rainbow in Your Heart album also produced by Disneyland/Vista Records in 1984. Bettina also performed the songs "Brand New Day" and "Rainbow Brite and Me" for the feature film Rainbow Brite and the Star Stealer . Bettina later created her own record label company[ citation needed ] and financed, co-wrote, and performed her first independent release entitled "Lucky Girl".[ citation needed ] In 2006 she was named the winner of American Idol Underground in the pop category. Exposure from the show led to her being offered the opportunity to direct a music video. Along with it came the opportunity for her to co-write and edit three tracks with Sony Music producer/songwriter Automatic (P!nk, India.Arie). [6] With them she has co-written and edited three tracks: "Emerald City", "Let Me Inside" and "I Can't Deny You".[ citation needed ] Her single titled "She Is" reached No. 4 on Billboard 's Hot Singles Sales chart. [7] [8] Her debut album was set to be released in January 2008[ citation needed ] but was never released.

Rainbow Brite and the Star Stealer is a 1985 American animated fantasy film directed by Bernard Deyriès and Kimio Yabuki. The film was produced by DIC Enterprises, Inc. and Hallmark Cards, and was released in the United States on November 15, 1985 by Warner Bros. It is the only film to feature the greeting card character Rainbow Brite; she also appeared in a few television specials prior to its release, and later in a Kideo TV series. In the film, Rainbow Brite tries to bring spring to an Earth that is already facing a perpetual winter. She must stop a wicked princess who wants all of Spectra, a planet-sized diamond through which all the light in the universe must pass.

Over the Rainbow is the debut album of child singer Connie Talbot, and was released 26 November 2007 by Rainbow Recording Company. Talbot, who had entered the public eye after her appearance on the first series of Britain's Got Talent at age six, signed with Rainbow, an independent label, after briefly recording with Sony BMG. Over the Rainbow consists entirely of covers of pop and Christmas songs, and was recorded primarily in a spare room in the house of Talbot's aunt, in an attempt not to interrupt Talbot's childhood by disrupting her regular activities. Rainbow Brite is an animated series based on Hallmark's media franchise of the same name, that ran from 1984 to 1986. Produced by DIC Enterprises with animation provided by Japanese TMS Entertainment, the show began as a part of DIC's Kideo TV syndicated anthology package. In this series, Rainbow Brite uses her magical belt to protect the colors of Rainbowland from the bumbling Murky & Lurky.
