The Beyond the Sea Tag Team Championship is a professional wrestling tag team championship created and promoted by the Seadlinnng promotion. [2] The inaugural champions were crowned on July 25, 2018, when Borderless (Rina Yamashita and Yoshiko) defeated Nanae Takahashi and Tsukasa Fujimoto. [1]

Contents

Like most professional wrestling championships, the title is won as a result of a scripted match. There have been a total of eleven reigns and two vacancies shared among ten teams and thirteen wrestlers. The titles are currently held by Makoto and Nagisa Nozaki who are in their first reign as a team, but third for Makoto and first for Nozaki individually.

Title history

On July 25, 2018, Borderless (Rina Yamashita and Yoshiko) defeated Nanae Takahashi and Tsukasa Fujimoto to become the inaugural champions. [1] On February 28, 2019, the current champions Arisa Nakajima and Ayame Sasamura vacated the title after Sasamura suffered a leg injury. [3] On March 20, Nakajima alongside Sae defeated Himeka Arita and Miyuki Takase to win the vacant championship. [4]

Reigns

As of November29, 2024, there have been 13 reigns between 12 teams composed of 15 individual champions and two vacancies. The inaugural championship team was Borderless (Rina Yamashita and Yoshiko). The team Las Fresa de Egoistas (Asuka and Makoto) has the most reigns at two times, while individually, Arisa Nakajima has the most reigns at four times. As a team, Asuka and Makoto has the longest reign at 546 days in their second reign as a team, while Nakajima and Sae has the shortest at 39 days. Nanae Takahashi is the oldest champion at 42 years old, while Asuka is the youngest at 22 years old.

Makoto and Nagisa Nozaki are the current champions in their first reign as a team, while individually, it is the third for Makoto and first for Nozaki. They defeated Veny and Maya Yukihi on March 15, 2024 at SEAdLINNNG Shin-Kiba Series 2024 Vol. 2.

Arisa Nakajima is a Japanese retired professional wrestler. Trained by the Major Girl's Fighting AtoZ promotion, Nakajima made her debut in January 2006, but when the promotion folded the following May, she transferred over to JWP Joshi Puroresu, where she became a two-time JWP Junior and Princess of Pro-Wrestling Champion. Nakajima retired from professional wrestling in June 2009, but made her return to JWP in April 2012. The following December, Nakajima won JWP's top title, the JWP Openweight Championship, for the first time. She eventually went on to become a record four-time JWP Openweight Champion, while also winning the JWP Tag Team and Daily Sports Women's Tag Team Championships twice, before quitting JWP in December 2016. The title, which is situated at the top of Seadlinnng's championship hierarchy, was introduced on October 3, 2018, and the inaugural champion was crowned on November 1, 2018, when Nanae Takahashi defeated Arisa Nakajima in the finals of an eight-woman tournament. The bottom part of the belt is blue as it resembles the ocean, while the upper part of the belt is red, which resembles the sun. The title was vacated once as a result of former champion Yoshiko taking time off to rehabilitate nagging injuries.
