Bhagirathi Gamang was an Indian politician. He was elected to the Lok Sabha lower house of the Parliament of India from Koraput,Odisha as a member of the Indian National Congress. [1] [2] [3]

The Hooghly River is the westernmost distributary of the Ganges,situated in West Bengal,India. It is known in its upper reaches as the Bhagirathi. The Bhagirathi splits off from the main branch of the Ganges at Giria. A short distance west,it meets the man-made Farakka Feeder Canal,which massively increases its flow. The river then flows south to join the Jalangi at Nabadwip,where it becomes the Hooghly proper. The Hooghly continues southwards,passing through the metropolis of Kolkata. Thereafter,it empties into the Bay of Bengal. Its tributaries include the Ajay,Damodar,Rupnarayan,and Haldi.
Gegong Apang is an Indian politician from Arunachal Pradesh. He served as the 3rd Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh from 18 January 1980 to 19 January 1999 and again from August 2003 to April 2007. The 2008 Kandhamal violence refers to widespread violence against Christians purportedly incited by Hindutva organisations in the Kandhamal district of Orissa,India,in August 2008 after the murder of the Hindu monk Lakshmanananda Saraswati. According to government reports the violence resulted in at least 39 Christians killed. Reports indicate that more than 395 churches were razed or burnt down,between 5,600–6,500 houses plundered or burnt down,over 600 villages ransacked and more than 60,000 –75,000 people left homeless. Other reports put the death toll at nearly 100 and suggested more than 40 women were sexually assaulted. Unofficial reports placed the number of those killed to more than 500. Many Christian families were burnt alive. Thousands of Christians were forced to convert to Hinduism under threat of violence. Many Hindu families were also assaulted in some places because they supported the Indian National Congress (INC) party. This violence was led by the Bajrang Dal,Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and the VHP.
Mohan Charan Majhi is an Indian politician,currently serving as the 15th Chief Minister of Odisha. He was elected to the Odisha Legislative Assembly from Keonjhar in the 2024 Odisha Legislative Assembly election as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He also represented the same constituency from 2000 to 2009 and from 2019 to 2024. He served as the chief whip of the BJP in the Odisha assembly from 2019 to 2024. In the year 1997,he entered politics as a Sarpanch.
