Tara Bhusan Dahal (born 18 May 1966) is a Nepali television personality, music video director, film director and media personality based in Nepal; he has been active in the Nepali television industry since 1988. He is most noted for his contribution to the Nepali television and video industry, and is also well known for his movie Kagbeni , where he made his directorial debut after making notable music videos, documentaries and features. Dahal has directed music videos for hundreds of Nepali singers, including Nima Rumba, Ram Krishna Dhakal, Rajesh Payal Rai, 1974 AD, Om Bikram Bista, Yogeswor Amatya, Nhyoo Bajracharya to name a few and the most exotic SAA KARNALI for Nepathya. [2]

During 1988-1990 he anchored Sunday Pop, a program of international pop music on Nepal Television (NTV); he initiated Disha Nirdesh, a political program run on NTV anchored by Bijay Kumar, and hosted Fireside, a current affairs talk show on Kantipur Television, from 2003-2019. [3] [4] He also created a well-known Nepali TV Series called Hamro Team in 2011.

Dahal served Nepal Television as a beginner and was the first executive producer for Image Channel, executive director for Dibyadristi, his own television production venture in Nepal, before joining Kantipur Television as the chief executive producer. His latest show The Bravo Delta Show appears on AP1 HD television network on Wednesdays at 9pm.

Kagbeni is a 2008 Nepali movie, loosely based on W. W. Jacobs's 1902 horror short story The Monkey's Paw. Kagbeni is the directorial debut of Bhusan Dahal. The name of the movie is taken from a tourist place Kagbeni situated in the valley of the Kali Gandaki, which is a 2-hour side trek from Muktinath. Kagbeni is considered to be a movie which changed the way people look at Nepali cinema, because it is seen as first successful non-commercial movie in Nepal which was able to leave its mark in the film industry. In present time, non-commercial movies are often described as 'post- Kagbeni era films' by Nepali critics. Kagbeni was one of the few Nepali films during its time to manifest cinematography as one of the important elements in cinema.

<i>Sano Sansar</i> 2008 Nepalese film

Sano Sansar is a 2008 Nepali romantic comedy film directed by Alok Nembang. The film has a massive star cast which includes Neer Shah and newcomers Mahesh Shakya, Jiwan Luitel and Namrata Shrestha. Sano Sansar is director Alok Nembang's directorial debut and is the second Nepali HD movie made after Kagbeni. The film is heavily influenced by the Korean movie My Sassy Girl and the English-language movie You've Got Mail. In 2021, Sano Sansar was shown again in theaters after COVID-19 lockdown ended in the country, it was after 13 years of its official release date it was shown again in some of the theaters. They took this decision in order to bring back audience to the theaters, because producers were not ready to release their unreleased films in fear of losing potential audience, since they were unsure if people are ready to attend theater after long pandemic.
