Bhuvnesh Chaturvedi (Hindi : भुवनेश चतुर्वेदी ; 2 May 1928 – 2 March 2014) was an Indian politician who was a Minister of State and Union minister in the Prime Minister's Office during Narsimha Rao's tenure. On 2 March 2014 he died in a private hospital at Kota, Rajasthan at the age of 85. [1] [2] [3]
Born in May 1928 in Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh, he was educated at Herbers College, Kota. An advocate and journalist by profession, Shri Chaturvedi was actively involved in student and youth movements, he was President of NSUI during 1953-56.
He started his legislative career with the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, where he was member from 1972 to 1977. He represented Rajasthan in the Rajya Sabha for three terms, from 1982 to 2000. He was Union Minister of State for the Prime Minister's Office from February 1993 to May 1996 and Minister for Science and Technology from December 1993 to May 1996. He was also the Director of Bank of Baroda.
He started two schools in Kota: Bal Vidyalaya (later Bhuvnesh Bal Vidyalaya) and Bal Mandir (later Bhuvanesh Bal Mandir). He also built a Science Museum at Bal Vidhyalaya, Kota, which was inaugurated by Honourable Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam (former President of India). He also contributed to the development of a crematorium in Kota.
He entered into politics after contesting the Presidential elections of the Student Union of Government College, Kota. He lost the first election to Satyaprakash Sharma in 1952-53 but won the second in 1953-54. He admired Dr. Krishna Menon, who was India's Representative at the United Nations, and called him as the Chief Guest for a function. Chaturvedi later started a memorial lecture series at Bal Madhyamik Kota, where eminent personalities like Mr. P.V. Narasimha Rao expressed their views about the life and achievements of Dr. Menon. Chaturvedi was sent to Russia by Dr. Menon to accompany the student representatives representing India and the foundation was laid for his entry into politics.
He was very close to ex Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao and being a State Minister in the Prime Minister's Office he supported the PM in the execution of tasks and decisions relevant to Nuclear Power, Science and Technology Department, Jammu Kashmir matters relevant to election.
In February 2017, a trust was formed in his name which is called "The Bhuvnesh Chaturvedi Trust". The trust was formed by Mrs. Mukta Chaturvedi Sharma and Dr. Prashant Sharma. The members of the trust are also from the Chaturvedi Family. The first initiative of the trust was the memorial lecture organised at Bal Mandir Kota on 2 March 2017. The topic of the memorial lecture was "Indo US Ties under the Trump Presidency" and the speakers were Dr. Amna Mirza and Dr. Chayanika Uniyal Panda. Both of them are Asst. Professors in colleges affiliated to Delhi University.
On 24 February 2018 his statue was unveiled at Bhuvanesh Bal Mandir after the instructions given by Honourable Mr. Manmohan Singh Ji through teleconference. Also a book titled as "Hadoti Kshetra Ke Kshailchitra" written by Dr.Renu Chaturvedi in the memory of Mr. Bhuvanesh Chaturvedi was released by him.

Triloki Nath Chaturvedi spent almost 70 years of his life in the administrative and political system of independent India. He was a member of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), held the constitutional position of Comptroller & Auditor General of India, was an elected member of the Indian Parliament, and was appointed by the President of India to the constitutional office of Governor of Karnataka and Kerala. He was honored with the Padma Vibushan for public service in 1991. He was associated with numerous academic, research, literary and philanthropic institutions as a member and in various leadership capacities.
Kannoth Karunakaran was an Indian politician who served as the chief minister of Kerala in 1977, from 1981 to March 1982, from May 1982 to 1987 and from 1991 to 1995. Raj Ghat is a memorial complex in Delhi, India. The first memorial was dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi where a black marble platform was raised to mark the spot of his cremation on 31 January 1948 and consists of an eternal flame at one end. Located on Delhi's Ring Road, a stone footpath leads to the walled enclosure that houses the memorial. Later the memorial complex was expanded to include memorials for other prominent Indian leaders including Jawaharlal Nehru, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Chandra Shekhar and Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

He was cabinet minister in earlier state BJP ministries with responsibilities of important portfolios. He was earlier state president of Bharatiya Janata Party, Rajasthan .. He had a Master of Science degree in physics. He was imprisoned in 1949 while participating in satyagraha to lift ban on RSS during 1948-50; organized movement against emergency and remained in jail for eighteen months, 1974-76. He was the only cabinet minister to have resigned for Ram Mandir movement in 1991.

Vaidya Suresh Chaturvedi (1928–2017) was an Ayurveda practitioner from Rajasthan, India. Previously he was a professor at Bombay University and has written many books on Ayurveda. In 2000, he was awarded the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award in the India. As an active practitioner of the ancient science of Ayurveda (healing), he is known in the national and international arenas of alternate medicines and has presented numerous papers. He has held a number of conferences in India. He was, a Ph.D guide in the University of Mumbai.
Pamulaparthi Venkata Narasimha Rao, popularly known as P. V. Narasimha Rao, was an Indian lawyer, statesman and politician from the Indian National Congress Party who served as the Prime Minister of India from 1991 to 1996. He was the first person from South India and second person from a non-Hindi speaking background to be the prime minister. He is especially known for introducing various liberal reforms to India's economy by recruiting Manmohan Singh as the finance minister to rescue the country from going towards bankruptcy during the economic crisis of 1991. Future prime ministers continued the economic reform policies pioneered by Rao's government.

Bhuvnesh Bal Vidyalaya, previously known as Bal Vidyalaya, is a private semi-boarding Senior Secondary School in Kota in the Indian state of Rajasthan. The school contains five hostels which in total house 620 students. Bhuvnesh Bal Vidyalaya is affiliated with the nearby Bal Mandir.
