Biddeford Regional Center of Technology (BRCOT) is a vocational school located in Biddeford, Maine, United States. It is a secondary vocational school located on the Biddeford High School campus for students enrolled at Biddeford High School, Kennebunk High School, Old Orchard Beach High School and Thornton Academy.

History

The Biddeford Regional Center of Technology was established in 1969 with the goal that students who enroll acquire academic, career and industry-recognized technical skills that will prepare them for entry into the workforce and post-secondary education, [1] [2] which has led to several community projects led and completed by Biddeford Regional Center of Technology students, including creating the 2018 emblem for the Coast Guard Academy. [3] [4] Biddeford Regional Center of Technology has also partnered with York County Community College (YCCC) [5] and Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) to provide college credit and certifications for their programs. [6]

Apponequet Regional High School, located at 100 Howland Road in Lakeville, Massachusetts opened September 21, 1959. Apponequet serves secondary academic education students from the towns of Freetown, and Lakeville. It is the only high school within the Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District.

The Marine Academy of Technology and Environmental Science (MATES) is a comprehensive, selective magnet public high school with a focus on marine and environmental science that is part of the Ocean County Vocational School District. The school is located in the Manahawkin section of Stafford Township, in Ocean County, New Jersey, United States directly behind the buildings of the Southern Regional School District and a joint parking lot with Ocean County College's Southern Education Center. As a public school, students attend the school at no charge. Prospective students must complete the application process which includes an entrance exam. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 2005.

Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School or Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School District is located on an 80-acre campus in Rochester, Massachusetts, United States, the geographical center of the five-member town school district that includes Acushnet, Carver, Mattapoisett, Rochester and students from Freetown & Lakeville Public Schools. Note that Lakeville is a member town while, Freetown is not and its students served are limited to around 90. Old Colony is fully accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, as well as the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

Ryan Michael Fecteau is the Speaker of the Maine House of Representatives. A Democrat, Fecteau serves Maine House District 11, consisting of a portion of Biddeford. At the time of his election as Speaker of the House in December 2020, Fecteau was both the youngest active state Speaker in the United States and the first openly gay person to serve as Speaker of the Maine House.
