Located 50 miles north of Knoxville, Tennessee, the South Fork Airpark boasts an asphalt runway 5,500 feet in length, with 3 instrument approaches. The Airpark grounds, totaling 400 acres, offers 1-3+ acre homesteads with taxiway access; personal hangars are also available.

Wings Over Big South Fork Air Show

The Big South Fork Airpark participates in the Wings Over Big South Fork air show every September. Attractions include shows by well-known aviators and a collection of airplanes from eras ranging from World War I to modern fighter jets. [2]

A residential airpark is also referred to as a "fly-in community". The residential airpark or fly-in community features one or more runways with homes adjacent to the runway. Many fly-in communities feature a variety of amenities, such as golf course, equestrian facilities and more. Residential airparks or fly-in communities are usually privately owned and restricted to use by the property owners and their invited guests. Most do not include commercial operations or businesses. The communities have also become a niche real estate market, with some firms dedicated solely to these developments.
