Bilal Bilici (born 1984) is a Turkish politician. He is elected to parliament in 2023 general election from Adana as a Good Party member.

Biography

He was born in 1984 in Adana. His father is Mehmet Ali Bilici, a businessman and politician who served three terms as an Adana deputy in the Turkish Grand National Assembly. [1] He completed his higher education in the Department of Economics at Boston University.

He worked as a consultant in the Boston office of Ernst & Young and Accenture. He worked in the oil and petrochemical industry in Dubai.

In Turkey, he served on the Board of Directors of Bilici Holding. He continued his Master's program in Global Politics and International Relations at Bahçeşehir University. His thesis titled "The rise of populism and the radical right in European politics: The case of the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ)" (2020) and received his master's degree. [2]

In 2020, he joined the Marmara Group Strategic and Social Research Foundation. [3] He took part in the Foreign Economic Relations Board under the Ministry of Economy. In 2021, he was appointed Honorary Consul of Guatemala in Istanbul. He took part in the board of directors of the World Honorary Consuls Association, which includes honorary consuls working in Turkey and affiliated to the Republic of Turkey. [4]

In 2022, he was appointed as the advisor to the chairman of the Good Party's US representation. [5]

In the 2023 Turkish general elections, he was elected as an MP from Adana from the Good Party.

On 15 May 2024, he resigned from Good Party. [6]

Parliamentary elections were held in Turkey on 24 June 2018 as part of general elections, with presidential elections taking place on the same day. Originally scheduled for 27 October 2019, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan called snap elections on 18 April after months of speculation. With the passage of a series of constitutional amendments in the 2017 referendum, the number of MPs will be increased from the previous 550 to 600. These representatives will be elected by the constituents of the 87 electoral districts of Turkey by party-list proportional representation.

The Nation Alliance, abbreviated as NATION, was an electoral and political alliance in Turkey, made up of six opposition parties to contest the 2023 Turkish general election against its main rival, the People's Alliance. Originally established prior to the country's 2018 general election, the alliance had consisted of four opposition parties across the political spectrum, which had found common ground on withstanding Turkey's newly established presidential system.
