The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), established in 1938, is an athletic association of eight Metro Manila universities in the Philippines. The eight member schools are Adamson University (AdU), Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU), De La Salle University (DLSU), Far Eastern University (FEU), National University (NU), University of the East (UE), University of the Philippines Diliman (UP), and University of Santo Tomas (UST). Varsity teams from these universities compete annually in the league's 28 events from 15 sports to vie for the overall championship title, namely, badminton, baseball, basketball, beach volleyball, chess, fencing, football, judo, softball, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, track and field, and volleyball.

Francis Joseph Dunphy is a former American college basketball coach. He is the former men's basketball coach at Temple University and the University of Pennsylvania. He succeeded John Chaney in 2006 and was succeeded by Aaron McKie in 2019. In June 2020, Dunphy was name interim athletic director of Temple.
Dave MacWilliams is a retired American soccer forward and head coach who played professionally in the North American Soccer League and Major Indoor Soccer League. He is also the former head coach of the Temple University men's soccer team.

He served as the head men's basketball coach at Rowan University from 1989 to 1996, the University of Maine from 1996 to 2004, and La Salle University from 2004 to 2018. The Robert V. Geasey Trophy is awarded to the most outstanding basketball player in the Philadelphia Big 5, an informal association of college athletic programs in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. It is not an MVP award and does not represent the entire regular season's most valuable player; the award goes simply to the best basketball player for Big 5 games played that season. It has been given since 1956 and is granted by the Herb Good Basketball Club. Members of the Philadelphia Big 5 are La Salle University, the University of Pennsylvania, Saint Joseph's University, Temple University and Villanova University.
The 1969 Grantland Rice Bowl was an NCAA College Division game following the 1969 season, between the East Tennessee State Buccaneers and the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. This was the first time that the Grantland Rice Bowl was played in Baton Rouge, Louisiana – prior games had been played in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
William Roy Trumbo was an American college basketball coach and athletics director in the western United States, primarily in California and Hawaii, and coached at the Division I level for three seasons at Idaho. His first collegiate head coaching position was at Culver–Stockton College in Missouri.
Beth Goetz is the current director of athletics for Ball State University. She previously served as Chief operating officer at the University of Connecticut from 2016 to 2018, as interim athletic director at the University of Minnesota from 2015 to 2016, as a deputy athletic director at the University of Minnesota from 2013 to 2015, as an associate athletic director at Butler University from 2008 to 2013, and as an assistant athletic director at the University of Missouri–St. Louis from 2000 to 2008. Goetz served as head women's soccer coach at the University of Missouri–St. Louis from 1997 to 2007, compiling a record of 120–90–9. Goetz attended college at Brevard College and Clemson University, playing on the school women's soccer team at both schools. Goetz was named athletic director at Ball State University on May 21, 2018.
Kyle Shurmur is an American football quarterback who is a free agent. He played college football at Vanderbilt, and was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2019.
John Shafer is a former American college athletics administrator. He served as athletic director at the University of Mississippi from 1998 to 2002, at Eastern Kentucky University from 2003 to 2004, and at Southeast Missouri State University from 2008 to 2011. Shafer attended college at Auburn University, where he played on the school's baseball team. Shafer announced his retirement from collegiate athletic administration on June 16, 2011.
