Bill L. Norton is an American film director, writer and producer. Among many projects, he is the writer-director of Cisco Pike and More American Graffiti .

Career

Norton is most notable as a film director, including his first feature film, Cisco Pike in 1972, which he also wrote. [1] [2] [3] He worked as a screenwriter in the 1970s and '80s, writing the scripts for Convoy and Outlaw Blues , among other films. [4]

He also has directed many television series, among them Buffy the Vampire Slayer , Angel , John Doe , Hack , Las Vegas , Law & Order: Criminal Intent , Lincoln Heights and Roswell .

He is the son of screenwriter William W. Norton, who was convicted in 1986 of importing arms to Northern Ireland for the IRA and the INLA. [5]

Sometimes he is credited as B.W.L. Norton, Bill Norton or William Lloyd Norton.

Cisco Pike is a 1971 American drama film that was written and directed by Bill L. Norton, and released by Columbia Pictures. The film stars Kris Kristofferson as a musician who, having fallen on hard times, turns to the selling of marijuana and is blackmailed by a police officer.

William Wallace "Bill" Norton, Jr. was an American screenwriter particularly notable for his collaborations with Burt Reynolds Later in life, he was convicted of gun running in France when he tried to send arms from the United States to the Irish National Liberation Army in Northern Ireland. After being released from prison, he moved to Nicaragua, where he shot and killed an intruder in his Managua home. He later spent a year living in Cuba but became disillusioned with Communism and was reportedly smuggled from Mexico into the U.S. by his ex-wife.

Gerald Ayres was an American film studio executive, producer and screenwriter. He is known for his work as producer of The Last Detail (1973) starring Jack Nicholson and as writer of Rich and Famous (1981) the last film directed by George Cukor.

Chance Kelly is an American film and television actor who portrayed National Football League coach Mike Martz in the 2021 film American Underdog. He is also known for playing detective Ed Cutler on the NBC series Aquarius, Lt. Col. "Godfather" Ferrando in the 2008 HBO miniseries Generation Kill, Mitchell Loeb in the Fox television series Fringe, and Randall Watts in the Cinemax television series Banshee.
