William Lewis Leadbetter is an Australian politician and historian. He was a Labor member of the Western Australian Legislative Council for East Metropolitan from 4 April 2017,when he was elected in a countback following the resignation of Amber-Jade Sanderson, [2] and his term concluded on 21 May 2017,when the new Legislative Council elected at the 2017 state election took its seats. Leadbetter did not seek re-election.
Leadbetter was born in Sydney,and has been a university lecturer in history in Western Australia since 1998. He previously contested the federal seats of Pearce in 2010 and Hasluck in 2016. [3]

She is best known for her role as the minister for planning and infrastructure during the construction of the Mandurah line. Born in Melbourne,she moved to Perth to study at the University of Western Australia,graduating with a Bachelor of Arts and later with a law degree. She worked for the Department of Employment before practising as a lawyer between 1986 and 1992. During this time,she also served on the Perth City Council. In 1976,MacTiernan joined the Australian Labor Party,and at the 1993 Western Australian state election,she was elected to the Legislative Council's East Metropolitan Region. She became a shadow minister in October 1994,and she was transferred to the Legislative Assembly at the 1996 state election,winning the seat of Armadale.
Andrew David Kennedy is an Australian former politician. Born in Ulverstone,Tasmania,he attended University High School in Melbourne and then the University of Melbourne,after which he became a teacher in Victorian state schools. In 1969,he was elected as a Labor member to the Australian House of Representatives in the by-election for the seat of Bendigo following Noel Beaton's resignation. He held the seat until his defeat in 1972. In 1982,he was elected to the Victorian Legislative Assembly as the member for Bendigo,and in 1985 he transferred to Bendigo West,a position he held until 1992 when the Labor government was defeated. Kennedy is the earliest elected federal Labor MP still alive.
Mia Jane Davies is an Australian politician who was the Leader of the Opposition and leader of the National Party in Western Australia from March 2021 to January 2023. She has been a member of the state Legislative Assembly since 2013,having previously served in the Legislative Council from 2009 to 2013. Davies was elected deputy leader of the Nationals in November 2013,and replaced Brendon Grylls as leader in March 2017 following his defeat at the 2017 state election. As a result of the Liberal Party's electoral wipeout at the 2021 state election,she became leader of the opposition after Premier Mark McGowan gave her party the official opposition party funding,the first member of her party to hold the role since Arthur Watts in 1947. She resigned as leader of the opposition and leader of her party in January 2023,and said she would not recontest her seat at the 2025 election.
