William McGovern (born 2 January 1937) is a British former racing driver.
McGovern is best known for becoming the first person to win three British Touring Car Championship (then known as the British Saloon Car Championship) driver titles. [1] He won three consecutive titles between 1970 and 1972 with a George Bevan-prepared Sunbeam Imp.[ citation needed ]

The Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) is a touring car racing series held each year in the United Kingdom, currently organised and administered by TOCA. It was established in 1958 as the British Saloon Car Championship and was renamed as the British Touring Car Championship for the 1987 season. It is one of the oldest, most popular and most prestigious touring car series in the world. The championship, currently running Next Generation Touring Car regulations, has been run to various national and international regulations over the years including FIA Group 2, FIA Group 5, FIA Group 1, FIA Group A, FIA Super Touring and FIA Super 2000. A lower-key Group N class for production cars ran from 2000 until 2003.
John Cunningham Cleland is a retired British auto racing driver, best known for winning the British Touring Car Championship in 1989 and 1995.
Michael Anthony Jordan is a British racing driver who competed in various classes of saloon and sportscar racing. He has won three British titles and spent three years competing in the BTCC against many drivers less than half his age, including his son and teammate Andrew. In 2006 he became the oldest driver ever to win a BTCC race. He lives in Lichfield with his wife Judith and their three children.
James Peter Kaye is a British auto racing driver. He has been a stalwart competitor of Hondas in various championships since 1995, and has had 2 lengthy spells in the BTCC. He won the BTCC independents' championship in 1992 and 1994.
Andrew Ernest Rouse is a British racing driver, most notably in the British Saloon Car Championship. He won the BSCC in 1975, 1983, 1984 and 1985.

Richard Arthur Longman is a British racing driver and renowned motorsport preparation expert. He was twice champion of the British Touring Car Championship in 1978 and 1979 driving a Mini 1275 GT for Patrick Motorsport, which ran the works British Leyland supported team. The following year he switched to a class C Ford Fiesta. In 1984 he was class C champion in his Ford Escort Mk3 RS1600i.
George Corbyn "Doc" Shepherd was a British racing driver. He entered the inaugural year of the British Saloon Car Championship in 1958, driving a class A Austin A35 where he finished fourth on points and second in class. in 1959, he finished second in the championship in an Austin A40. He became the BSCC champion a year later in 1960 for the Don Moore Racing Team.
Roger Moen is a Norwegian former racing driver. He is best known for his two different spells racing in the British Touring Car Championship. He first raced in British Saloons, winning his class in the National Saloon 2000 championship with seven wins in 1996, and finished as runner-up in 1997.
Thorkild Thyrring is a Danish auto racing driver. He drove several times in the Le Mans 24 hour race, most recently in 2005 and 2006 for Sebah Automotive Ltd in a Porsche 911 GT3. His best result in the race was finishing nineteenth overall in 2005. Previously he raced a Lotus in 1993 and 1994 and a Corvette in 1995. His team had failed to finish the race in all of these previous attempts.
The 1972 RAC Wiggins Teape Paperchase British Saloon Car Championship was the 15th season of the championship. Bill McGovern became the first driver to win three BTCC titles, making it three back-to-back titles with his Sunbeam Imp.
Robin Charles Brundle is a British racing driver and businessman. In January 2009, he was appointed as managing director of Lola Cars. He still occasionally competes in historic racing events. Robin is the younger brother of former Formula One driver and current Sky Sports F1 commentator Martin Brundle.
Philip Colin Dowsett is a British retired racing driver. He initially competed in Formula Ford, Formula Three and Formula Atlantic in the 1970s, finishing as runner-up in the 1979 and 1980 National Formula Atlantic Championships. He competed regularly in the British Touring Car Championship during the 1980s in a Toyota Corolla GT. In 1988 and 1989 he won consecutive class D titles, becoming the last driver to win that class. He finished as runner-up in the championship overall in 1988, five points behind champion Frank Sytner. He is the father of racing cyclist Alex Dowsett.
Graham Hathaway is a British retired auto racing driver. He is now running his own team Graham Hathaway Racing (GHR). His racing career has seen him compete in rallycross and saloon cars. In 1988, 1989 and 1990 he entered selected rounds of the British Touring Car Championship driving a Ford Sierra RS500.
Mark Hales is a British auto racing driver and instructor. He is best known for finishing as runner-up in the 1987 British Touring Car Championship season.

Warwick Banks is a British former racing driver. He was a race winner in British Formula Three for Tyrrell Racing during the 1960s and was teammate of Jackie Stewart during his first season in 1964. Jon Dooley was a British auto racing driver. He finished third overall in the British Touring Car Championship on three occasions, in 1981, 1984 and 1987 competing in cars from the Alfa Romeo marque. He competed in the BSCC/BTCC from 1976 to 1989, all but one race in an Alfa Romeo.
David Alexander Brodie was a British motor racing driver. He is best known for his time competing in the British Touring Car Championship. His best season in the BTCC was in 1985, finishing fourth overall on points.
