Birdy Airlines was an airline based in Belgium that offered long-haul flights from Brussels to Africa on behalf of SN Brussels Airlines using a fleet of three Airbus A330-300 aircraft. The airline was founded in 2002 and ceased its operations in 2004 when it was merged into SN Brussels Airlines. [1] [2]

Sabena Flight 877 was a scheduled passenger flight from Brussels Airport, Belgium to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, Kenya, via a stopover at Bujumbura International Airport in Bujumbura, Burundi. On 4 December 2000, Hutu rebels fired machine guns at the Airbus A330-223 operating the flight as it landed in Bujumbura, damaging the aircraft and injuring two of the 170 people on board. There were no fatalities.
