The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Moland. The municipality of Moland was established on 1 January 1838. In 1879, the name was changed to Fyresdal.

It has a declared runway length of 800 meters (2,600 ft), although the physical length is 1,400 meters (4,600 ft).
