Black Symphonies (An Orchestral Journey) is an orchestral compilation album from German futurepop band Blutengel. It was promoted as a classical 'best of'.
After performing at the first Gothic Meets Klassik festival 2012 at Neues Gewandhaus, Leipzig, [1] 'Die With You' and 'Ein Augenblick', two of the eight songs played were played in their classical style during their Monument tour. They were recorded on the live album 'Once in A Lifetime'. The response to both the Gothic Meets Klassik and 'Once in A Lifetime' performance was positive, and Blutengel began a classical tour with the 'Monument Ensemble' performing the eight songs from Gothic Meets Klassik, plus five songs rewritten for the chamber ensemble. [2] [3] All of the tracks were arranged by Conrad Oleak, who did the original arrangements for the songs performed at Gothic Meets Klassik. [4]
From this came 'Black Symphonies', and a new song entitled 'Krieger' (Warrior) with 'Legend' (Actually 'Legend Part 2' from the Monument bonus disc) and 'Monument' serving as an intro and outro to the album. It was released as a CD, CD+DVD and Box Set. The DVD has four performances from the Gothic Meets Klassik, including 'Die With You' and 'Ein Augenblick' which were omitted from the album itself. The box set contains the CD+DVD, a Black Symphonies T-shirt, a signed page of sheet music from 'Reich Mir Die Hand' and the Krieger single. The Krieger single was later released through digital retailers, but the music video to promote both the album and the single was set to the symphonic version of the song.

The 28th Annual Grammy Awards were held on February 25, 1986, at Shrine Auditorium, Los Angeles. They recognized accomplishments by musicians from the previous year, 1985. The night's big winner was USA For Africa's "We Are The World", which won four awards, including Song of the Year which went to Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie. It marked the first time in their respective careers that they received the Song of the Year Award. For Richie, it was his sixth attempt in eight years. The other three awards for the latter single were given to the song's producer, Quincy Jones.

VNV Nation is an Irish alternative electronic project led by Ronan Harris in the roles of singer, songwriter, and producer. VNV Nation's sound combines lyrics with sounds that ranges from melodic industrial dance anthems, to haunting ballads and post-classical soundtrack pieces. Their 2015 album Resonance: Music For Orchestra Vol. 1 achieved #4 Classical & #3 Classical CrossoverBillboard chart positions in the US. The "VNV" in the name stands for "Victory Not Vengeance," in keeping with the group's motto, "One should strive to achieve, not sit in bitter regret."

Concerto for Group and Orchestra is a live album by Deep Purple and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Malcolm Arnold, recorded at the Royal Albert Hall, London, in September 1969. "The Charade" is a song by Armenian-American musician Serj Tankian. The single was released prior to Elect the Dead Symphony, although the rock version was found only in the album's DVD closing credits. The orchestral version featured on the album's CD is included in the single as a B-side on some versions.
Once in a Lifetime is a live album from German futurepop band Blutengel. It was recorded in Berlin released as a 2xCD album, DVD and Blu-ray. It is the first Blutengel release on Blu-ray format. Three of the songs performed were symphonic versions, Die With You & Ein Augenblick were both originally performed at 2012 Gothic Meets Klassik festival, and No Eternity was later performed along with a selection of songs from Monument for a classical tour. All three of these symphonic versions were omitted from their 2014 symphonic album Black Symphonies and exist only on this album.
Resonance: Music for Orchestra Vol. 1 is an orchestral album by the German-based alternative electronic band VNV Nation, with the Deutsches Filmorchester Babelsberg, released on May 15, 2015 on VNV's own Anachron Sounds label. All songs are from their back catalogue, arranged for orchestra and voice.
Lord of the Lost is a German rock band from Hamburg, formed by singer and frontman Chris Harms. They represented Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 with the song "Blood & Glitter".
