Blaser Jagdwaffen GmbH (pronounced: Blah-zer) is a German firearms manufacturer of high-end shotguns and rifles both for the hunting and tactical market. It was founded in 1957 by Horst Blaser, developing the drilling Blaser Diplomat. [1] [2] [3] In September 2008, Blaser established a office in San Antonio, Texas.
In 1993, Blaser developed the Blaser R93 straight-pull bolt-action hunting rifle, a major success in the European market because of its main focus in security and innovative bolt-action design. Blaser makes their barrels by hammer forging. The R93 series can change calibers in minutes with very little effort. [3] In the first 10 years, over 100,000 of the R93 Action-Bolt rifles were fabricated. When production of the R93 ended in 2016/2017, there had been produced more than 200000 complete R93 rifles. [4] In 2015 there had been produced more than 100000 complete Blaser R8 rifles. [5]
Blaser merged with SIGARMS in 1997, but continues autonomously producing and developing hunting rifles. In 1999 SIGARMS began distribution of Blaser in the USA. [6]
Today, its product portfolio includes straight pull model Blaser R8, combination guns (Drillings and Double rifles), shotguns (Blaser F3 and F16), and single shot rifles. [7]
In 2017 Blaser started producing binoculars [8] and the following year also telescopic sights [9] [10] and Reflector sight called RD 17. [11] All of the Blaser sport optics products are price positioned in the highest premium class. The following models are currently available.
All Blaser binoculars feature Abbe-Koenig prisms.[ citation needed ]
All Blaser Infinity rifle scopes have a 36mm main tube and can only be mounted with rail. The rail standard used is the Zeiss ZM/VM type.
The RD 20 comes with original Blaser saddle mount included.[ citation needed ]
Bolt-action is a type of manual firearm action that is operated by directly manipulating the bolt via a bolt handle, which is most commonly placed on the right-hand side of the firearm.
In firearms terminology, an action is the functional mechanism of a breech-loading firearm that handles the ammunition cartridges, or the method by which that mechanism works. Actions are technically not present on muzzleloaders, as all those are single-shot firearms with a closed off breech with the powder and projectile manually loaded from the muzzle. Instead, the muzzleloader ignition mechanism is referred to as the lock.
Several sister companies that design and manufacture firearms use the brand name SIG Sauer. The original company, Schweizerische Waggonfabrik (SWF), later Schweizerische Industrie-Gesellschaft (SIG), went through several selloffs, leaving the SIG Sauer brand spread over several companies. The original SIG is now known as SIG Combibloc Group and no longer has any firearms business.
Weatherby, Inc. is an American gun manufacturer founded in 1945 by Roy Weatherby. The company is best known for its high-powered magnum cartridges, such as the .257 Weatherby Magnum, .270 Weatherby Magnum, .300 Weatherby Magnum, .340 Weatherby Magnum and the .460 Weatherby Magnum. The company's headquarters is based in Sheridan, Wyoming.
The SIG Sauer SSG 3000 is a bolt-action, magazine fed rifle chambered in 7.62×51mm NATO. It was developed in Germany. It is a common law enforcement sniper rifle in both Europe and the United States. The SSG 3000 was developed by SIG Sauer GmbH and is well renowned for its high quality.
The Blaser R93 is a straight-pull action precision rifle offered in a multitude of calibers and barrel lengths manufactured by the German firearms manufacturer Blaser. Designed by Blasers' designer Mr. Meinhard Zeh in 1993, it had a number of features rare on modern hunting rifles, including a manual cocking system and a proprietary Blaser saddle scope mount for mounting the optic directly to the quick-change barrel.
J. P. Sauer und Sohn GmbH is a manufacturer of firearms and machinery and is the oldest firearms manufacturer still active in Germany. The products of this company are frequently referred to as Sauer.

The Mauser M 98 are a series of currently (2020) produced bolt-action hunting rifles. The production of the controlled round feed Mauser 98 bolt action system for the German military ceased at the end of World War II in 1945. The new Mauser M 98 and M 98 Magnum rifles for civil users are in production since 1999 in Isny im Allgäu, Germany by Mauser Jagdwaffen GmbH, according to original drawings of 1936 and the respective Mauser patents. Mauser Jagdwaffen GmbH is a subsidiary of SIG Sauer.
Noblex, formerly Docter Optics, is a German manufacturer of optics, including binoculars, rifle scopes, spotting scopes, red dot sights, flashlights and reading glasses. Its headquarters are in Eisfeld, Thuringia, Germany, where most of the products are developed and manufactured. Docter is part of the Analytik Jena Group.

In firearms, barrel threads refer to the screw threads used to attach a barrel.
Sauer 80, 90 and 92 are bolt-action rifles using a non-rotating bolt with rear-locking lugs expanded against matching lugs inside the rear of the action by rotating the bolt handle down. The rifle is known for having a relatively short-for-the-calibre and very smooth bolt travel and has been described as “The most accurate rifle ever made,” and “These are the smoothest actions you will ever cycle. They are remarkably accurate.” but also for being technically more complicated than the “Gold Standard” Mauser 98 bolt action. The early European and Colt models had a very complicated trigger mechanism and this was later changed in production to a standard shotgun single-set trigger to give adequate safety with simplicity and familiarity of use.
Zeiss inner rail, generally simply referred to as Zeiss rail, is a ringless scope sight mounting system introduced by Zeiss in 1990 as an alternative to traditional ring mounts. A patent was granted in 1992, and the patent expired in 2008. The mounting system is now also offered on sights sold by other major manufacturers, such as Blaser, Leica, Minox, Meopta, Nikon, Noblex, Schmidt & Bender and Steiner. The system has so far seen most use on the European high-end market.
SIG Sauer 205 is a bolt-action rifle formerly produced by SIG Sauer. The rifle was produced in several variants for competition shooting and law enforcement.
Scope mounts are used to attach telescopic sights or other types of sights to firearms. The scope sight itself is usually made for only one of two main types of mounts, which can be classified as scopes for ring mounts, for example a 30 mm tube, or scopes for rail mounts, such as the Zeiss rail. Words such as mounts and bases are used somewhat loosely, and can refer to several different parts which are either used together or in place of each other as ways to mount optical sights to firearms.
Mauser M1996, also known as Mauser M96 or Mauser M96 S, is a straight-pull rifle which was introduced by the German firearms manufacturer Mauser in 1996. The rifle had a blind magazine which was loaded from the top, and the bolt was operated by pulling the bolt handle about 30 degrees along the longitudinal axis of the firearm. The factory trigger pull weight was a little over 2 kg, and was not adjustable. Due to the construction of the trigger geometry it has proven difficult to lighten the trigger pull without experiencing problems with light primer strikes. The locking lugs are angled slightly to aid with primary extraction. The rifle was delivered with a traditional slim wooden stock where the height of the comb was adapted for shooting with iron sights. The receiver came drilled and tapped for attaching a scope mount.
In 1956, a young German machinist named Horst Blaser set up a business to produce a hunting rifle.
1998 — SIGARMS brought in the first shotgun line designed specifically for SIGARMS by B. Rizzini of Italy. The next year, the revolutionary Blaser R93 rifle line from Isny, Germany, was distributed nationwide through SIGARMS.
