Bleach is an American Christian rock band based in Nashville, Tennessee.

History

Bleach was formed at Kentucky Christian University in Grayson, Kentucky, in 1995, originally under the name Muffin. [1]

In 1997, the band earned a Dove Award in the category of Modern Rock Recorded Song of the Year for its song "Epidermis Girl", from its first album Space . [2] The follow-up album, Static, reached No. 22 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart. [3]

In 2004, the band members announced that they were disbanding. [4] The band said goodbye to its fans in the form of a farewell tour, which was followed by the final album Farewell Old Friends released March 1, 2005. [5] Their "last show" was performed on August 29, 2004, in Nashville, but on March 13, 2005, the band performed a reunion show to benefit the Aaron Marrs Memorial Fund. It also performed a reunion show at The O.C. Supertones's last show, at Biola University on October 7, 2005.

"Super Good Feeling" is on the Seltzer 2 album, "Waving Goodbye" on the Seltzer 3 album and a cover of dc Talk's "Heavenbound" on the Forefront Ten album. [2] In 2010, Bleach reunited.

Davy Baysinger and Jared Byers have a side project band: Royal Empire Music. They have written songs for a compilation CD series called My Other Band for Mono vs. Stereo records. Russ Fox is now[ when? ] playing guitar in the rock band The Red Velvet and runs Huntington's Broadmoor Recording Studio.

Additionally, they made an appearance at the Cornerstone Festival in 2010, [6] and at the Sonshine Festival in July 2010. [7]

The band started their "Four States Tour" in July 2011 and began work on a EP which was never released. [8] The band has maintained an active social media site [9] and reunites to plays shows periodically. Most notably the "Rock 2 Adopt" acoustic show and auction May 23, 2017, with MercyMe, Plumb and Rhett Walker and "Journey Fest" July 17, 2021. [10] [11]

Further Seems Forever is an American rock band formed in 1998 in Pompano Beach, Florida. Over its initial eight-year run the band experienced several lineup changes, resulting in a different lead vocalist performing on each of their first three studio albums. Original singer Chris Carrabba recorded The Moon Is Down (2001) with the group before leaving to start Dashboard Confessional. He was replaced by Jason Gleason, who performed on How to Start a Fire (2003) but left the band the following year. Former Sense Field vocalist Jon Bunch joined Further Seems Forever for Hide Nothing (2004). The band broke up in 2006 but reunited four years later with Carrabba on vocals. Their fourth studio album, Penny Black, was released in 2012.

Poor Old Lu was a pioneering Christian alternative rock band based in the American Northwest. The band experimented with a variety of sounds and genres, particularly grunge, funk and psychedelic rock. The band consisted of Scott Hunter (vocals), Jesse Sprinkle (drums), Aaron Sprinkle (guitar), and Nick Barber (bass). Hunter was the lyricist who wrote on philosophical, metaphorical, and spiritually oriented topics. PAX217 is an American Christian rock band from Orange County, California. The band's music gained popularity in the Christian rock scene in the early 2000s. PAX217's lineup consists of David Tosti on vocals, Jesse Craig on guitar, Josh Auer on bass, Joey Marchiano on drums, Chris "Tito" Duran on keyboards, and Bobby "Bobbito the Chef" Duran on turntables. Former members include Ethan Luck on guitar, Dan Sessum on guitar, and David Tosti's younger brother Aaron "Skwid" Tosti, who later played in Hawk Nelson, on drums. The band began in 1994 and broke up in 2005, but reunited in 2010.

Johnny Q. Public was a Christian alternative rock band from Springfield, Missouri. Although their sound was wholly modern, it was influenced by bands such as Led Zeppelin and Cream. In addition to their music they were known for their Charismatic theology, which they would dramatically display through audience participation at their live shows.

Hyland was an American Christian rock band originating from Minneapolis, Minnesota. The band released two EPs independently before signing to Tooth & Nail Records on October 25, 2010. Their debut album was released on May 3, 2011.

Newsboys Live In Concert: God's Not Dead is the second live album from Australian Christian rock band Newsboys. It was recorded in July 2012 at Sonshine Festival and Lifest and released through Sparrow Records on 22 October 2012 and features songs from their albums Born Again (2010), God's Not Dead (2011), and live recordings of Michael Tait singing "He Reigns" and "Something Beautiful".

Jared Byers is a drummer. He was formerly the drummer for the rock bands Relient K, Bleach, Royal Empire Music, and Audio Adrenaline. Byers had previously filled-in on drums for Audio Adrenaline during a tour in early 2007, which were to be the band's final shows before reuniting in 2013. He also played drums for The Rocket Summer on tour.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Mattie Montgomery</span> American singer

Matthew "Mattie" Montgomery is an American musician and the former lead vocalist and frontman of Christian metal band For Today from 2007. He released six albums and one EP with the band before they broke up in 2016. In addition to his work with For Today, Montgomery has his own solo gospel project named after himself in which he has released three albums and two books. He now pastors a church, The Altar Fellowship, in Johnson City, Tennessee.
