"Blessed" is an English language hit single by Lebanese-German singer Fady Maalouf. Maalouf was a contestant in 2008 of Deutschland sucht den Superstar, the German version of Pop Idol. He sang the song for the first time on 17 May 2008 in the finals of the said competition as the "winner's song" in case he won the competition. He eventually came second (runner up) to winner Thomas Godoj. "Blessed" also appears in Fady Maalouf's debut album also entitled Blessed .

Even though Fady Maalouf did not win the title, his extraordinary voice and his charming personality had, by then, won him the hearts of an enormous fan base, which then, in an unprecedented effort, bombarded Sony BMG with letters, mails and phone calls, all demanding the same – the release of Fady Maalouf's title "Blessed", performed by him during the final show.

After a contract with Columbia, a subsidiary of Sony BMG Music Entertainment "Blessed" was released on 4 July 2008 as a single and went straight to no. 2 in the German single charts. [1]

"Blessed" was written for Fady Maalouf by Jörgen Elofsson and Peer Åström, a songwriter team of international standing, who have worked with such names as Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis, Madonna, Britney Spears, Cyndi Lauper, Il Divo, and especially Céline Dion. The song is produced by Alex Christensen, who has worked with artists such as Justin Timberlake, Tom Jones, Paul Anka or Michael Bolton.

The album, also named Blessed including 14 tracks, saw the light on 25 July 2008, and went as well straight to no. 2 in the German album charts. These simultaneous single and album charts positions made Maalouf the most successful DSDS finalist of all time.

Rogue Traders

Rogue Traders is an Australian electronic rock band formed in Melbourne, Victoria in 2002 by mainstay James Ash on keyboards. In 1989, Ash met fellow original member Steve Davis in London while both were working as DJs. Before forming Rogue Traders, the pair had worked together on many projects, including the dance music act Union State, which relocated to Melbourne in 1992. The song has been recorded by more than a hundred other artists including American songwriter Josh Groban in 2003 and Irish boy band Westlife in 2005 whose versions were hits in their countries. Welsh singer Aled Jones and all-female Irish ensemble Celtic Woman have also recorded successful covers.

H-Blockx is a German rock band founded in Münster in 1991. The fifth season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar live shows began 8 March 2008. It is currently hosted by Marco Schreyl and jury panel, Dieter Bohlen, Anja Lukaseder, and Andreas "Bär" Läsker also star. This season, instead of making top 20 shows, the producers decided to make the top 15 live show "Now or Never" and chose the top 10 live to premier in the "Mottoshows" for the upcoming season.

"Show Me Your Love" is the third English language single by Lebanese-German singer Fady Maalouf from the Blessed. Although it did not appear in the original Blessed released after he became runner-up in 2008 of Deutschland sucht den Superstar, however it was included in the Blessed: New Edition released a double CD package on 28 November 2008 that includes same materials as the original release but also new unreleased tracksand new versions including two versions of "Show Me Your Love".
