Blutec Srl is a brand owned by Metec SpA, created in 2014 by acquiring the Italian automotive company Stola, [1] which was founded in Turin in 1919.[ citation needed ] It is known for having taken over the former FIAT factory in Termini Imerese. [2]
Blutec inherited Stola Group activities, namely the production of car components. The production and design is carried out by 10 factories and 6 engineering offices deployed between Italy and Brazil.
In 2016, the company was helped by Invitalia and its 94 million euros to re-employ 120 ex-employees of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles in Termini Imerese, a suburb of Palermo. [2]
In September 2019, the owner of Metec SpA (Roberto Ginatta) and the CEO of Blutec, Cosimo Di Cursi, were investigated by prosecutors in Turin and Palermo for misappropriating 16 million euros from the Invitalia funds. [1]
In June 2020, the 76 year old Roberto Ginatta was incarcerated, while Matteo Orlando Ginatta and Giovanna Desiderato were placed under house arrest, in the matter of the fraudulent sequestration of a big chunk of the Blutec-Invitalia funds. [3]
On 20 December 2020, Metec SpA was declared bankrupt, while the Ginatta family had bought themselves a mansion in the woods of La Mandria regional park near Turin. The mansion has a floor area of 1,700 square meters (over 18,000 square feet) and 46 rooms and is equipped with various garages and a swimming pool; the surrounding wood (also subjected to seizure) extends for almost 5 hectares. Termini Imerese is a town of the Metropolitan City of Palermo on the northern coast of Sicily, in Italy. It is one of the most important towns of the Metropolitan City of Palermo, from which it is 33 km far. The town is easily reachable through its well developed infrastructures: there are three highway exits along the A19, its station is the meeting point between all of the Sicilian railway lines and its seaport links the town with other important maritime Italian cities. It has a judicial district. It's culturally interesting for the close Greek ruins of Himera, its numerous churches, Roman ruins, prehistorical finds and the annual celebration of the Carnival, one of the oldest of Italy. In the heart of the old town, at its lower level, there are the thermal baths of the Grand Hotel delle Terme, where precious hot volcanic waters flow since Roman age. In the areas of Termini and the near Sciara and Caccamo there's the Oriented Nature Reserve of St. Calogero Mount, which is located between the coast of Termini Imerese Gulf and the surrounding fertile flat territory. In the east zone of the town, there's an important industrial area, especially known for the former factory which was owned by FIAT and for the ENEL power plant “Ettore Majorana”.

The first official show took place between 21 and 24 April 1900, at the Castle of Valentino, becoming a permanent fixture in Turin from 1938 having shared it with Milan and Rome until that time.
