Bob Hackett (born August 3,1949) is a Republican member of the Ohio Senate,representing the 10th district since 2016.
Hackett,a graduate of Columbia University where he played on the Columbia Lions football team, [1] served two terms as a Madison County Commissioner and is the founder and a former managing partner of Central Ohio Financial Mgt. Group,LLC.
With incumbent Chris Widener running for the Ohio Senate,Hackett,along with Craig Saunders,opted for the Republican nomination to replace him. [2] Ultimately,Hackett defeated Saunders with 53.34% of the electorate to move on to the general election. [3] He went on to defeat Democrat Connie Crockett in the general election with 61.39% of the vote,winning his first term in the legislature. [4] Hackett easily won reelection in 2010 against Aaron Kilbarger with 69.7% of the vote. [5] Along with his role in the Ohio Senate,Hackett is involved with the Madison County Hospital;Choctaw Lake Property Owners Association;Madison County Farmland Preservation Task Force;the Entrepreneurship Institute of Ohio;Watchdog of the Treasury and is currently a member of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC). Currently,Hackett is serving on the committees of Financial Institutions,Housing,and Urban Development,Health and Aging,Insurance (as chairman) and its Subcommittee on Workers' Compensation,and Local Government. He also is a member of the Correctional Institution Inspection Committee;and the Unemployment Compensation Advisory Council.
A former county commissioner,Hackett said lawmakers want to do their best to help the local governments save costs and mitigate the financial hit. "Everyone knows these big cuts are coming," he said.
In early 2016,Senator Bob Hackett was appointed to the Ohio Senate to succeed Senator Chris Widener,who resigned.

Jennifer Lee Brunner is an American attorney,politician and judge. She is currently an associate justice of the Ohio Supreme Court,a position to which she was elected after serving as a judge on Ohio's Tenth District Court of Appeals. On June 8,2021,Brunner announced her candidacy for Chief Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court in the November 8,2022,general election. Brunner is a member of the Democratic Party who served as the Ohio Secretary of State;Brunner was the first woman to serve in this capacity. She took office after sixteen years of Republican control,which included two four-year terms by her predecessor J. Kenneth Blackwell,who oversaw the 2000 and 2004 state elections. Brunner served only a single term as Secretary of State. When it came time for re-election in 2010,she instead made an unsuccessful bid for the U.S. Senate. Prior to being elected Secretary of State,Brunner worked in the Ohio Secretary of State's Office and served as a County Judge in Franklin County,Ohio. She also owned her own private practice;during her private practice career,she focused on election law and campaign finance law. She represented a broad range of candidates,businesses,political parties and committees before the Ohio Elections Commission on quasi-criminal matters.
Jason H. Wilson is an American politician who served as a member of the Ohio Senate,representing the 30th district from 2007 to 2011. He also served as the Director of the Governor's Office of Appalachia during the administration of Governor John Kasich. Wilson is the son of former Ohio Senator and United States Congressman Charlie Wilson.
Kirk Schuring is an American politician serving as a member of the Ohio Senate. He served as interim Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives,following the resignation of Speaker Cliff Rosenberger. Rosenberger resigned amid revelations he was under investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He was previously a member of the Ohio House of Representatives from 1993 to 2002,and from 2011 to 2018. Schuring also previously served in the Ohio Senate from 2003 to 2010. He was the Republican nominee for Ohio's 16th congressional district in the 2008 election. In 2018,Schuring was re-elected to the Ohio Senate,where represents the 29th district.
