Robert Learn Jr. (born April 4, 1962) is a professional ten-pin bowler and bowling coach. He formerly competed on the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) Tour and is currently active on the PBA50 Tour. He is nicknamed "Mr. 300", having rolled over 100 perfect games between PBA and sanctioned USBC competition. [2] Learn was inducted into the USBC Hall of Fame (Veterans category) in 2020. He is also a member of the Erie Bowling and Pennsylvania State Bowling Halls of Fame. [3]

Bowling career

Learn became a PBA member in 1981, bowling mostly in PBA Regional Tour events until joining the national PBA Tour full-time in 1984. He won five PBA Tour titles during his career, [5] including a major at the 1999 U.S. Open, but is most noted for:

Learn's fifth and final PBA Tour title came in 2001 at the Dydo Japan Cup. He also has ten career runner-up finishes on the PBA Tour, [7] and has earned over $1 million in PBA events. [2]

He joined the PBA Senior Tour (renamed the PBA50 Tour) in 2012, and has three titles on that Tour to date. He also has 25 PBA Regional Tour titles and four PBA50 Regional Tour titles. [8]

Coaching career

In May 2017, Learn Jr., with over 25 years of coaching experience, accepted the position of head men's and women's bowling coach for the Martin Methodist RedHawks in Pulaski, Tennessee (now the Tennessee Southern Firehawks). He was named NAIA Men's Bowling Coach of the Year in the 2019–20 and 2020–21 seasons. [9] [2] He was also named 2023 USBC Men's Coach of the Year.

Learn created TurboTech Collegiate Expo, which he designed specifically for college recruitment. He has conducted numerous bowling clinics around the world and has been a past coach for Team USA. [10]

In 2020, Learn was named manager of the expansion Miami Waves PBA League team. [11]

Personal

Originally from Erie, Pennsylvania, Learn now resides in Spring Hill, Tennessee. [8] Bob is married to his wife Stacey, and the couple has two children. [12]

As of June 26, 2022, Williams is also the all-time titles leader on the PBA50 Tour, with 16. He is a three-time PBA50 Player of the Year and has won three majors on that Tour. He has rolled 110 career perfect 300 games in PBA competition through 2019.

Wayne Webb is an American professional bowler from Rehoboth, Massachusetts. He was known for his success from the late 1970s to the end of the 1980s. Webb is one of only 17 players in history to win at least 20 PBA Tour titles, and is a member of both the PBA and USBC Halls of Fame.

Parker Morse Bohn III is a left-handed American professional ten-pin bowler. Bohn is one of only eight players in PBA history to accumulate at least 30 career PBA Tour titles, currently ranking fifth all-time with 35. He has ten more titles on the PBA50 Tour. He is a two-time PBA Player of the Year and has also won a PBA50 Player of the Year award (2022).

Nelson "Bo" Burton Jr. is a professional ten-pin bowler, PBA Hall of Famer, and former longtime analyst for the Professional Bowlers Tour on ABC Television. He is the son of Nelson Burton, Sr., who himself was a successful bowler in his day, competing with the likes of Glenn Allison and Billy Welu. Bo compiled 18 titles on the PBA Tour, including two major championships, and earned $763,782 (USD).

Delmas Perry "Del" Ballard Jr. is a professional ten-pin bowler and member of the Professional Bowlers Association. He was a 2009 inductee into the PBA Hall of Fame, and a 2011 inductee into the USBC Hall of Fame. Ballard is the husband of top female bowler Carolyn Dorin-Ballard with whom he has one daughter. The Ballard family now resides in North Richland Hills, Texas. He is also the brother-in-law of another top female bowler, Cathy Dorin-Lizzi.

Brian Voss of Cornelius, North Carolina, is a professional ten-pin bowler and member of the Professional Bowlers Association since 1982. He was inducted into the PBA Hall of Fame in 1994 and the USBC Hall of Fame in 2007.

Mike Aulby is a left-handed bowler and former member of the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA). He is one of only five PBA bowlers to win both a Rookie and Player of the Year award. He is also the first player in history to complete a career "Super Slam", in which a bowler wins all five PBA Tour major tournaments at least once. He has amassed 20 titles on the PBA Tour, making him one of only 17 players in history to accumulate at least 20 victories. He was the 2004 Senior PBA Rookie of the Year, and has won five titles on the Senior and Generations tours. Ozio is a member of both the PBA and USBC Halls of Fame.

Mike Scroggins is a left-handed professional ten-pin bowler and member of the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA), having joined in 1989. He resides in Amarillo, TX. He has won eight PBA Tour titles in his career, including two majors. He won the USBC Masters in 2005 and the Lumber Liquidators 66th U.S. Open in 2009. He has 39 career PBA 300 games, and stands at over $1.45 million in career PBA earnings following the 2017 PBA50 season. He also has three PBA50 Tour titles. Scroggins was elected to the PBA Hall of Fame in 2016, and was officially inducted with the 2017 class.

Andrew Anderson of Holly, Michigan is a right-handed American professional ten-pin bowler known for winning the 2018 USBC Masters. He competes in events on the PBA Tour and in global events as a member of Team USA. In his second full season on the PBA Tour (2018), Anderson won the Chris Schenkel PBA Player of the Year Award.
