Bob Shillinglaw

Robert Shillinglaw (born 1953) is an American lacrosse coach, noteworthy for having been the head coach of the University of Delaware Mens Lacrosse team since 1978. [1] His record in 40 years of coaching at the college level is 305-273. Shillinglaw, former Army and Cortland State coach Jack Emmer, as well as former Penn State coach Glenn Thiel are the only coaches in NCAA lacrosse history to coach 500 games.

Born in Annapolis, Maryland, Shillinglaw was a star athlete at Severna Park High School and earned a spot at University of North Carolina playing lacrosse.

He is the coach with the most wins in Delaware's 60-year lacrosse history. He coached his 1984, 1999, 2005, 2007, 2010 and 2011 teams to NCAA Tournament appearances, including the 2007 Final Four appearance, and led his 1979 squad to a 13-2 mark and was named USILA Coach of the Year.

In 2007, Shillinglaw led the University of Delaware Mens Lacrosse team to its finest season with a 13-6 overall record capturing the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament title and making its first ever NCAA Final Four appearance. On May 26, 2007 the Delaware team lost in the semi-final round to Johns Hopkins University by a score of 8-3 at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland, the lowest scoring semi-final game in NCAA history, before 52,004 fans.

Currently he resides in Elkton, Maryland, and is an assistant professor at the University of Delaware.

As of February 4, 2012, Shillinglaw became one of three active coaches to have won at least 300 games in their coaching careers after a win against the University of Detroit Mercy. [2]

He was inducted into the Delaware Sports Hall of Fame in 2022. [3]

Scott Marr is an American lacrosse coach. He is currently the head coach for the University at Albany Great Danes men's lacrosse team. He previously served as the offensive coordinator at the University of Maryland and University of Delaware. Marr led the Great Danes to the school's first ever NCAA tournament appearance in 2003. In 2007, Albany won its first NCAA tournament game, and the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association named Marr the Coach of the Year.

John S. Emmer is a former American lacrosse coach. He retired in 2005 with 326 wins, making him the lacrosse coach with the most wins in NCAA history. This mark was surpassed in 2008 by Jim Berkman of Division III Salisbury University. Emmer is one of only two head coaches to have led three different teams to the NCAA men's lacrosse tournament.

Danowski coached Duke to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Men's Lacrosse Championship in 2010, 2013, and 2014, and appearances in the national championship game in 2007, 2018, and 2023. He is a three-time winner of the F. Morris Touchstone Award as the NCAA men's lacrosse coach of the year, earning the honor in 1993, 2010, and 2013. One of nine coaches to lead three NCAA Division I championship teams, Danowski has won more games than any other Division I lacrosse coach. In addition, he is the head coach of the United States men's national lacrosse team, which he led to the gold medal at the 2018 World Lacrosse Championship.

Cindy Timchal is an American lacrosse coach. She is the head women's lacrosse coach at the United States Naval Academy. She has coached for some of the top programs in college women's lacrosse, including Northwestern University, University of Maryland. At Maryland Timchal coached the Terrapins to seven straight NCAA Division I Women's Lacrosse Championships.

Roy D. Simmons Jr. is a former American lacrosse coach who was the head coach of the Syracuse Orange men's lacrosse team from 1971 to 1998. Simmons' teams won the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Men's Lacrosse Championship six times, and appeared in the national semifinals 16 consecutive seasons. He won the F. Morris Touchstone Award for the coach of the year in NCAA men's lacrosse in 1980, and was inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 1991.
