Bob Utley is a contemporary Bible teacher who is best known for his commentary series that covers the Old and New Testaments.

Utley attended East Texas Baptist University from 1969 to 1972 and graduated with a Bachelors in Religion. He then pursued a master's degree in divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary between 1972 and 1975. In 1976 he continued post-graduate studies at Baylor University. His academic studies then went on hiatus until 1987 when he began a Doctorate in Ministry with Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois - which he completed in 1988. In 1991 he once again pursued post-graduate studies, this time in Koine Greek and Hermeneutics at Wycliffe Bible Translators Summer Institute of Linguistics.

Utley founded International Sunday School Lessons Inc. which would later become Bible Lessons International and has taught for this non-profit from 1976 until the present. In 1980 he was brought on as a teacher for the Seminary Extension of Southern Baptist Convention of Lubbock Baptist Association and near-simultaneously taught for Wayland Baptist University, the latter ending in 1984 and the prior in 1985.
From 1986 to 1988 Utley taught the weekly "Life and Work" series on the ACTS network of SBC's Radio/TV Commission and at the same time began teaching for United Christian Ashrams, a retreat ministry for adults begun by E. Stanley Jones. Utley continues to work with United Christian Ashrams.
From 1987 to 2003 Utley served on the faculty of East Texas Baptist University's Religion Department teaching Bible Interpretation, Old Testament, and Evangelism. During his tenure at ETBU he was elected "Teacher of the Year" five years, "Favorite Teacher" five years, and "Favorite Professor" two years.[ citation needed ] In 2008, he received the J. Wesley Achievement Award as one of several ETBU honored by the university's Office of Alumni Relations. [1]
After his tenure at ETBU Utley has continued teaching at various colleges and seminaries including Baptist Seminary in Yerevan Armenia, Emmaus Bible Seminary in Cap-Haitien Haiti, Novi Sad Theological College in Novi Sad Serbia. In 1976, Utley began teaching Verse by Verse, a weekly shortwave radio program on TransWorld Radio [2] in Guam, and John Wesley Methodist Seminary in Monterrey, Mexico.
Utley condensed his Biblical commentary to fit on a DVD, which he makes available in 35 languages at no charge to anyone requesting it. [3]
In 2012, Utley became interim co-pastor of First Baptist Church in Marshall, Texas. [3]

Gordon Paul Hugenberger was the senior pastor at historic Park Street Church, in Boston, Massachusetts (1997–2017). He announced on June 5, 2016 that he would leave that position by the end of June, 2017. He was born in Wellesley, Massachusetts, one of seven children. While working at a Salvation Army camp as a high schooler, he had a conversion experience and began to follow Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Walter C. Kaiser Jr. is an American Evangelical Old Testament scholar, writer, public speaker, and educator. Kaiser is the Colman M. Mockler distinguished Professor of Old Testament and former President of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, Massachusetts, retired June 30, 2006. He was succeeded by James Emery White.
Victor Premasagar (1927–2005) was the fourth successor of Frank Whittaker as Bishop in Medak. He was an Indian churchman and Old Testament scholar who made major contributions to research on the Old Testament and to the field of theology. Premasagar's articles appeared in the Expository Times (1966), the Vetus Testamentum (1966), the International Review of Mission (1972), and the Indian Journal of Theology (1974) and cited in major works relating to the theme of Promise in the Bible and critical works on Psalms LXXX and the Hebrew word HOQ in the Tanakh.
George Ernest Wright, was a leading Old Testament scholar and biblical archaeologist. An expert in Ancient Near Eastern archaeology, he was especially known for his work in the study and dating of pottery. He was associated with the biblical theology movement.
Warren Wendall Wiersbe was an American Christian clergyman, Bible teacher, conference speaker and a prolific writer of Christian literature and theological works. Wiersbe is perhaps best known for his series of 50 books in the "BE" series: Be Real, Be Rich, Be Obedient, Be Mature, Be Joyful, etc., and other theological works. He pastored the Moody Church in Chicago (1971–1978) and succeeded Theodore Epp as director of the Back to the Bible radio ministry.

Edward Earle Ellis was an American biblical scholar. Ellis served as Research Professor of Theology Emeritus at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, joining the institution in 1985.
Bible Lessons International (BLI) is a non-profit Bible study ministry and 501(c)(3) corporation based in Marshall, Texas. The ministry, according to information published on its website, "is dedicated to reaching the world for Jesus Christ with the goal of empowering God's people to interpret the Bible for themselves." Verse-by-verse, exegetical commentaries are offered entirely for free by the organization, which says its materials are "committed to the trustworthiness and authority of Scripture, emphasizing the intent of the original inspired authors by means of their historical setting, literary context, grammatical features, choice of words, genre and parallel passages."

John Edgar Goldingay is a British Old Testament scholar and translator and Anglican cleric. He is the David Allan Hubbard Professor Emeritus of Old Testament in the School of Theology of Fuller Theological Seminary in California.
John Herbert Sailhamer was an American professor of Old Testament studies at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in California. He was president of the Evangelical Theological Society in 2000 and made notable contributions to Old Testament studies.
James L. Crenshaw is the Robert L. Flowers Professor of the Old Testament at Duke University Divinity School. He is one of the world’s leading scholars in Old Testament Wisdom literature. He proposes that much of Proverbs was brought together at a time well after Solomon. He has been described as "a highly respected scholar" and an "excellent teacher".

Paul R. House is an American Old Testament scholar, author, and seminary professor who served as 2012 president of the Evangelical Theological Society. He was professor of divinity at Beeson Divinity School, an interdenominational seminary in Birmingham, Alabama, until his retirement in May 2023.
William P. Brown is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church USA, author, biblical theologian, and the William Marcellus McPheeters Professor of Old Testament at Columbia Theological Seminary.

John D. W. Watts was a Baptist theologian and Old Testament scholar.
Willem A. VanGemeren is Professor Emeritus of Old Testament and Semitic Languages at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He is the author of a number of books, including Interpreting the Prophetic Word (Zondervan) and a commentary on Psalms in the Expositor's Bible Commentary series (Zondervan). He was a senior editor of the five-volume work The New International Dictionary of Old Testament Theology and Exegesis in which ten essays have been compiled to thoroughly explain proper hermeneutics and Biblical interpretation. He is a member of the Society of Biblical Literature, the Evangelical Theological Society, and the Institute for Biblical Research.
John Thomas Willis was an Old Testament scholar. He was a Professor of Old Testament at Abilene Christian University, where he taught the Hebrew Prophets, Psalms, Pentateuch, OT Exegesis and Biblical Hebrew. He is the author of 30 books and over 100 scholarly articles including commentaries on Genesis, 1–2 Samuel and Isaiah in the Living Word Commentary series. He was also a translator of the Theological Dictionary of the Old Testament for Eerdman's.
