Bobby Puleo (born 1974) is a regular-footed American professional skateboarder and artist. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]

Life

Born in [Clifton, New Jersey]], Puleo began skateboarding at 10. His first board was the Skull and Sword Powell Peralta board, which he received for Christmas in 1984. [3] Puleo started coming to New York at 16 to skate street spots, like the Brooklyn Banks and others. [1] In 1998, Puleo moved to West 108th Street. [1] Since childhood, Puleo has been a collector of found objects. [7]

Skateboarding career

Puleo has been a professional skateboarder for over 20 years, Puleo's first pro deck was on Mad Circle skateboards. [8] Puleo was skating a lot with filmer Aaron Meza for the FTC Penal Code 100A video released in 1996. [8] Scott Johnston and Meza introduced Puleo to Justin Girard who put him on Mad Circle. Before Mad Circle, while riding for Metropolitan, Puleo got put on Stereo. [9]

Artistic practice

Building upon his lifelong interest in collecting found objects, Puleo creates collages and assemblages. [1] Puleo also practices photography and has an interest in graffiti. [9] Puleo has shown his art throughout the United States and has an instagram account dedicated to his art: Gutter Gallery [1] [15] [16] In 2003, Puleo opened a show: ''These Eyes Have Eyes," at Space 1026 Gallery in Philadelphia. [1] In 2021, Puleo had a solo show of his assemblages titled "Flat Earth" presented by Hey Check This Out gallery in NYC. [17]

Mark Gonzales, also known as "Gonz", "the Gonz" and "the Godfather", is an American professional skateboarder and artist. A pioneer in the development of modern street skating, he is considered one of the first street-style skateboarders alongside Natas Kaupas. Gonzales and Kaupas are also credited with the first known boardslides on a handrail. Gonzales' pioneering influence on skateboarding has caused him to be known as the "God Father" of modern street skateboarding, and he was named the "Most Influential Skateboarder of All Time" by Transworld Skateboarding magazine in December 2011. Gonzales was placed ahead of Tony Hawk (2nd) and Rodney Mullen (3rd)

Alien Workshop (AWS) is an independent American skateboarding company that was founded in 1990 by Chris Carter, Mike Hill, and Neil Blender in Dayton, Ohio. Following periods under the ownership of the Burton snowboard company and original team rider Rob Dyrdek in 2012, the company was acquired by Pacific Vector Holdings in October 2013. Alien Workshop produced skateboard decks, wheels, apparel, and other skateboard accessories prior to its closure in May 2014. In 2015, Alien Workshop was revived with an all-amateur team and distribution through Tum Yeto. They released a series of new skate decks and Bunker Down, the brand's sixth video. As of 2016, Alien Workshop, led by Mike Hill phased out working with Tum-Yeto and moved all operations back to the Mound Laboratories in Miamisburg, Ohio. After a tumultuous ownership history they have returned to operations as an independent company.
