Bobsleigh Olympic team winter sport

Bobsleigh or bobsled is a team winter sport that involves making timed runs down narrow, twisting, banked, iced tracks in a gravity-powered sleigh. Kaillie Humphries Canadian bobsledder (born 1985)

Kaillie Humphries is a Canadian-American bobsledder. Prior to becoming a naturalized US Citizen, Humphries represented Canada and is a two-time Olympic champion in the two-woman, and is the 2018 Olympic bronze medalist with brakeman Phylicia George. With her victory in 2014, she became the first female bobsledder to defend her Olympic title. Owing to her repeat championship, she was named flagbearer for the closing ceremonies at the 2014 Olympic Games together with brakewoman Heather Moyse. Humphries is also the two-time defending overall World Cup champion. To date, she is the most successful Canadian bobsledder in history. In 2019, she switched to representing the United States because of abuse and harassment that she claims she faced from the Canadian bobsled federation. She won three IBSF World Championships for Team USA in 2020,2021 seasons making her a 5x World Champion and the most decorated woman in bobsleigh history.

2016 Winter Youth Olympics

The 2016 Winter Youth Olympics, officially known as the II Winter Youth Olympic Games, took place in and around Lillehammer, Norway, between 12 February and 21 February 2016. They were the fourth Youth Olympic Games and the second winter edition. Lillehammer was awarded the games on 7 December 2011 as the only candidate. The games reused venues from the 1994 Winter Olympics; this made Lillehammer the first city to host both regular and Youth Olympics. In addition to Lillehammer, sports were contested in Hamar, Gjøvik and Øyer.

The 2021 IBSF World Championships was held in Altenberg, Germany from 5 to 14 February 2021. They were originally awarded to Lake Placid but were moved because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bobsleigh at the 2022 Winter Olympics will be held at the Xiaohaituo Bobsleigh and Luge Track which is one of the Yanqing cluster venues. A total of four bobsleigh events will be held, between 4 and 20 February 2022.

Laura Nolte German bobsledder

Laura Nolte is a German bobsledder. In 2021, she won the gold medal in the two-woman event at the IBSF European Championships 2021 held in Winterberg, Germany. In the same month, she also won the gold medal in the two-woman event at the IBSF Junior World Championships 2021 held in St. Moritz, Switzerland.

The 2021–22 Bobsleigh World Cup is a multi-race series over a season for bobsleigh. The season started on Innsbruck-Igls, Austria on 20 November 2021 and will finish on St. Moritz, Switzerland on 16 January 2022. The season sponsor is BMW.

Cynthia Appiah Canadian thrower and bobsledder (born 1990)

Cynthia Appiah is a Canadian bobsledder who has been competing in the sport as a since 2014. Appiah made her World Cup debut in 2016. In 2018, she made the shift to the pilot position and later made her World Cup debut as a bobsleigh pilot in the 2019/2020 season. At the IBSF World Championships 2021 in Altenberg, Germany, Appiah placed fifth and ninth in monobob and two-woman bobsleigh, respectively.

The women's monobob competition in bobsleigh at the 2022 Winter Olympics will be held on 13 February and 14 February, at the Xiaohaituo Bobsleigh and Luge Track in Yanqing District of Beijing. This will be the inaugural monobob competition at the Olympics.
