Bolt is a 1995 drama film directed by Henri Colline and George Mendeluk and starring Richard Grieco in the title role as a New Jersey biker. After fleeing west to escape a gang war, Bolt becomes romantically involved with Native American Patty Deerheart (Sean Young), [1] and is compelled to battle to protect her family from a land runner. The appearance of former gang rival Billy Niles (Michael Ironside) on the reservation causes the conflict to escalate into a violent climax. It was released on DVD as Rebel Run in 1999. [2]
The movie received generally poor reviews, and Sean Young later said that the cast referred to the film as "Blot". [1]
Rebel Without a Cause is a 1955 American coming-of-age romantic drama film about emotionally confused suburban, middle-class teenagers. Filmed in the then recently introduced CinemaScope format and directed by Nicholas Ray, it offered both social commentary and an alternative to previous films depicting delinquents in urban slum environments. Colors is a 1988 American police procedural action crime film starring Sean Penn and Robert Duvall, and directed by Dennis Hopper. The film takes place in the gang ridden neighborhoods of Los Angeles: late-1980s South Central Los Angeles, Echo Park, Westlake and East Los Angeles. The film centers on Bob Hodges (Duvall), an experienced Los Angeles Police Department C.R.A.S.H. officer, and his rookie partner, Danny McGavin (Penn), who try to stop the gang violence between the Bloods, the Crips, and Hispanic street gangs. Colors relaunched Hopper as a director 19 years after Easy Rider, and inspired discussion over its depiction of gang life and gang violence.
