Bon Air is a census-designated place (CDP) in Chesterfield County, Virginia, United States. The population was 16,366 at the 2010 census. The community is considered a suburb of the independent city of Richmond in the Richmond-Petersburg region and is a part of the Southside neighborhoods. Originally developed as a resort, a central portion of Bon Air has been designated as a National Historic District with many structures of Victorian design from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Its name means "good air," reflecting its role as a resort getaway that wealthy Richmonders enjoyed for its fresh air as opposed to the dirty air of Richmond's industrial downtown of the late 19th century.

Bon Air Baptist Church's vision is, "A place to belong... A place to become." They embrace "mission-mindedness, a multi-site movement, bridge-building to future generations, multi-ethnicity, and mobilizing our people to serve." Priorities include, "...mentoring and developing both our newest and long-term members, serving others inside and outside our church who need emotional, physical, and spiritual support, and most importantly, helping to bring non-believers to Christ."

The Baptist Faith and Message (BF&M) is the statement of faith of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC). It summarizes key Southern Baptist thought in the areas of the Bible and its authority, the nature of God as expressed by the Trinity, the spiritual condition of man, God's plan of grace and salvation, the purpose of the local church, ordinances, evangelism, Christian education, interaction with society, religious liberty, and the family.

The church was started by Woodland Heights Baptist Church.
