The Bon Marche Department Store (also known as the Bon Marche Building and the Macy's Building) is a building in Seattle listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The building was designed by John Graham, Sr. Construction began in February 1928 and the store opened in August 1929. [2] The building served as The Bon Marché's flagship store and was later operated by Macy's. Macy's sold the upper 6 levels of the flagship store in 2015 to Starwood Capital. That portion of the building was remodeled into a 475,000-square-foot (44,100 m2) office complex for Amazon. Macy's remained on the lower two floors and in the basement. [3] On February 23, 2020, the Macy's closed the store and the building was sold to Starwood. [4]
In November 2022, Uniqlo opened a store on the ground floor. [5]

In modern major cities, the department store made a dramatic appearance in the middle of the 19th century, and permanently reshaped shopping habits, and the definition of service and luxury. The Meier & Frank Building is a fifteen-story, glazed terra cotta building located in downtown Portland, Oregon, across from the northeast corner of Pioneer Courthouse Square. The building is the former flagship store and headquarters building for the Meier & Frank department store chain, which was taken over by Macy's in 2006. In 2006–2007, the building's lower five floors were remodeled as a Macy's, while the upper eleven floors were renovated in 2008 into a luxury hotel known as The Nines. Macy's closed in April 2017 and the lower levels were rebuilt as office space.
Frango mints are a brand of chocolate truffles first created for the Frederick & Nelson department stores. Traditionally flavored with mint and widely popularized by the Marshall Field and Company department store, they were later produced and distributed by Macy's department stores. Frango is also the brand name of a line of various other related food products.
Westlake Center is a four-story shopping center and 25-story office tower in downtown Seattle, Washington, United States. The southern terminus of the Seattle Center Monorail, it is located across Pine Street from Westlake Park, between 4th and 5th Avenues. It is named for Westlake Avenue, which now terminates north of the mall but once ran two blocks farther south to Pike Street. Westlake Park is considered Seattle's "town square" and celebrities and political figures often make appearances or give speeches from the building's balcony. Saunders and Lawton was an architectural firm consisting of partners George Willis Lawton and Charles Willard Saunders active from 1898 until 1915 in Seattle, Washington. Other architects at the firm included Herman A. Moldenhour, Paul David Richardson, and J. Charles Stanley. Following Saunders' retirement, Moldenhour would take his place as partner in the firm under the name Lawton & Moldenhour, who would have moderate success throughout the 1920s.
