"Boogie Body Land" is a song written by the band members of the Bar-Kays. It was released in 1980 by Mercury Records. "Boogie Body Land" was included in their 1980 album As One which was produced by Allen Jones. As a single it peaked at number 7 on the Billboard Black Singles and number 73 on the Dance chart. Usher is the eponymous debut studio album by American singer Usher. It was released on August 30, 1994, by LaFace Records. As executive producer, Sean "Puffy" Combs mostly did the production work on this album, as well as the additional production that were provided by Chucky Thompson, DeVante Swing and Al B. The tune was written for an impromptu scene in Hatari! in which 'Dallas' led three baby elephants to a waterhole to bathe. The catchy simplicity has made it one of Mancini's most popular works, appearing on many compilation albums. Although not used for the film, Hal David composed lyrics to Mancini's tune, which appear in the printed sheet music and were later recorded by Pat Boone, released by Dot Records in 1965. Mancini's version was not released as a single.

The Bar-Kays are an American soul, R&B, and funk group formed in 1966. The group had dozens of charting singles from the 1960s to the 1980s, including "Soul Finger" in 1967, "Son of Shaft" in 1972, and "Boogie Body Land" in 1980.

Joyce Melissa "Meli'sa" Morgan is an American R&B/Soul singer–songwriter. Morgan had a string of urban contemporary hits starting the mid–1980s through the mid–1990s. Morgan most notable songs includes her cover version of Prince's "Do Me, Baby" (1985), "Do You Still Love Me" (1986) and "Still in Love With You" (1992). Born in Queens, New York, Morgan got her start in the music industry while singing with a church gospel choir called the Starlets of Corona. Morgan cites Chaka Khan as a major influence.

The discography of Steppenwolf, an American Hard rock band, consists of Thirteen studio albums, Nine compilation albums, Twenty-one singles, Three music videos. The band was formed in 1967 after some members of The Sparrows split. Group members included John Kay, Michael Monarch, Goldy McJohn, Rushton Moreve and Jerry Edmonton. Their first album, Steppenwolf, was released in 1968, which sold well and reached 6 on the Billboard. That same year, Steppenwolf re-read "The Pusher". The song was later used in Easy Rider. The album's most successful single was "Born to Be Wild", which reached No. 2 on the Billboard. At the time of the release of second album, The Second the band's bassist Rushton Moreve had a dispute with band leader John Kay and eventually replaced him with Nick St. Nicholas arrived.
