History

Boot Barn was founded by Ken Meany in 1978, with the first store being established in Huntington Beach, California. ^{[4] [5]}

The company saw growth in the early 2000s, acquiring Sheplers and expanding to hundreds of stores across the United States. ^{[6] [7] [8]}

In October 2024, John Hazen was named as interim CEO to replace outgoing Jim Conroy. Also, board chairman Peter Starrett took on the role of executive chairman while the board conducts a search for the company's next CEO. ^[1]
