Boris Carloff (born Milan Havrda; 17 September 1974 in Brno) is a Czech musician, composer and record producer. In 2012 he released the Apollo Award-winning album The Escapist, [1] followed by Morphosis in 2014. [2]

Career

Boris Carloff studied classical violin and his first band Palm Beat was formed in 2003. [3] He later played with several other projects and as producer he collaborated with acts including Kryštof and Wohnout. [4] His stage name was inspired by English actor Boris Karloff. [5] His first solo EP Good Stuff was released by Red Salamanda Records in 2004 and his debut full-length album The Escapist was released in 2012. The songs reflect on the passing of Carloff's brother and father in the two years prior. It includes guest performances by Doug Yowell and Ghetto Priest. [6] The album won Apollo Award for the Best Album of the Year. [7] He was also nominated in five categories of the Czech Anděl Awards, while winning two: 'Video of The Year' for Falling and 'The Best Electronic Album'.

In 2014, Boris Carloff released the album Morphosis, which was recorded with Icelandic producer Barði Jóhannsson. [2]

Dara Rolins is a Slovak recording artist and entrepreneur. Her music career began at the age of nine, after being cast in the television musical Zázračný autobus (1981). The early role established a formula for her regular assignments as a child singer, who had no trouble hitting note B6 and possibly above, and resulted in recording her debut album Keby som bola princezná Arabela (1983) on OPUS Records. By her late teens, Rolins appeared in a number of made-for-TV films of varying quality, as well as managing to deliver a series of teen pop-orientated albums, such as Darinka (1986), Čo o mne vieš (1988) and soundtrack Témeř růžový příběh (1990), all released by Supraphon. Xindl X Czech musician

Ondřej Ládek, known professionally as Xindl X, is a Czech singer-songwriter and screenwriter. In his music he combines pop, folk, hip hop, jazz and blues.

Katarze is the debut studio album of the Czech pop music group Slza. The album was released on November 13, 2015 by Universal Music. The group recorded in DC Sound studio from December 2013 to October 2015 under the supervision of producer Dalibor Cídlinský. The music for the songs was composed by Cídlinský and the guitarist of the band Lukáš Bundil, the author of the lyrics is Ondřej Ládek, known under the pseudonym Xindl X. For the album, the band was nominated for three awards 2015; Group of the Year, Discover the Year and Album of the Year. At the same time, the board was well sold, in the Czech IFPI debut in the first place and in the front seats was also held throughout the year 2016. During this year, it was awarded a three-platter board.

Lenka Filipová, known professionally as Lenny, is a Czech singer, songwriter, composer, lyricist, and pianist.

2019 Czech Lion Awards ceremony was held on 7 March 2020. It will be moderated by Václav Kopta. Nominations were announced on 15 January 2020. Owners received highest number of nominations. The Painted Bird then won in 9 categories including the Best film.

Benny Cristo Czech actor, singer, and snowboarder

Ben da Silva Cristóvão, known professionally as Ben Cristovao or Benny Cristo, is a Czech singer, lyric writer, sportsman, and actor. He was nominated to represent the Czech Republic in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam after winning the national round with the song Kemama. After the contest was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Czech Television confirmed on that Cristo would instead represent the Czech Republic in the 2021 contest. Benny Cristo sings in both Czech and English.

Janek Ledecký Czech musician

Jan Ledecký, better known as Janek Ledecký, is a Czech singer, songwriter, guitarist, and composer born in Prague. After graduating from Karla Sladkovského high school, he attended the Law Faculty of Charles University in Prague, earning a degree in law. Since 1981, he has played in the multiple award-winning rock band Žentour as lead vocalist and guitarist. In 1992, he launched a solo career, which he maintains to this day, having released over a dozen successful albums. He has also written and performed in several musicals, including Galileo, Hamlet, and Iago.

2020 Czech Lion Awards ceremony will be held in March 2021. Awards underwent changes as new Categories were added. Animated film and Web works will be newly Awarded in their respective Categories. Some categories became open for Television and Web works as a result of increase in Television work quality.

Martin Chodúr Czech musician

Martin Chodúr is a Czech singer, composer, lyricist, and multi-instrumentalist. He is a winner of the first Česko Slovenská SuperStar singing competition in 2009. He has also won a Český slavík award, several Music Web poll awards, and a TýTý Award, among others.
