Boubacar Diarra (born 18 April 1994) is a Malian footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Horoya AC. [2]
Diarra's career began in Mali with AS Revenant and AS Korofina, he then left his homeland to go to the DR Congo to join Linafoot team TP Mazembe. [4] [5] During his time with TP Mazembe, Diarra won the 2013 Linafoot, the 2013–14 Linafoot and the 2015 CAF Champions League. [2] He departed in 2016 to join Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 outfit Club Africain, making his debut in a defeat to Stade Tunisien on 17 February 2016. [2] [5] Six months and thirteen appearances later, Diarra was on the move again as he signed for Wadi Degla of the Egyptian Premier League. [2] On 19 January 2017, Diarra completed a transfer to Wadi Degla's sister club Lierse. [6]
He made his Lierse debut on 27 January in a league match against OH Leuven. [7] In October 2018, Diarra joined Sudan Premier League side Al-Hilal Club. [8] A move to Saudi Arabia and Najran of the Prince Mohammad bin Salman League occurred on 26 June 2019. [9] However, in the succeeding September, Diarra headed to I-League club NEROCA; having terminated his Najran contract. [10] [11] [12] [13] He netted goals against Chennai City, East Bengal, TRAU and Real Kashmir across 2019–20. [2]
Diarra has represented Mali at U20, U23 and senior level. [2] [4] He won three caps for the U20s during the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Turkey. [2] He made his senior debut on 29 June 2016 in a friendly against China at the Shenzhen Stadium. [2]

Boubacar "Copa" Barry is an Ivorian former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Having begun his career at ASEC Mimosas, he moved to France in 2001, where he played for Rennes' reserve team. In 2003, he joined Belgian side Beveren where he stayed four years. He then spent ten years at K.S.C. Lokeren Oost-Vlaanderen amassing 239 league appearances. At international level, he played for the Ivory Coast national team before his retirement from international football in March 2015, but continued to play for his club, Lokeren. Exactly four years after his international retirement, Barry retired also professionally as a player in March 2019.
Diarra is a French translation of the clan name Jara used in West Africa, as a hangover from the French colonial empire in that region. It originates from the Bambara language word jara, meaning lion, synonymous with waraba. The Kingdom of Diarra existed from the 7th Century until the 19th Century. The name is also frequently used with reference to the 18th to early 19th-century Bambara Empire in Ségou, Mali, which was ruled successively by Ngolo Diarra, his son Mansong Diarra, and then his son Da Diarra.
