Bouko (also spelled Bouka) is a town in north-eastern Ivory Coast. It is a sub-prefecture of Bouna Department in Bounkani Region, Zanzan District.

Ivory Coast State in West Africa

Ivory Coast or Côte d'Ivoire, officially the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, is a country located on the south coast of West Africa. Ivory Coast's political capital is Yamoussoukro in the centre of the country, while its economic capital and largest city is the port city of Abidjan. It borders Guinea and Liberia to the west, Burkina Faso and Mali to the north, Ghana to the east, and the Gulf of Guinea to the south.

Sub-prefectures of Ivory Coast are the fourth-level administrative subdivisions of the country. There are currently 510 sub-prefectures. They were created in 2011, when the administrative subdivisions of Ivory Coast were reorganised.

Bouna Department Department in Zanzan, Ivory Coast

Bouna Department is a department of Bounkani Region in Zanzan District, Ivory Coast. In 2014, its population was 114,625 and its seat is the settlement of Bouna. The sub-prefectures of the department are Bouko, Bouna, Ondéfidouo, and Youndouo.

Bouko was a commune until March 2012, when it became one of 1126 communes nationwide that were abolished. [2] In 2014, the population of the sub-prefecture of Bouko was 15,319 [3] .
