Boule et Bill is a televised French-language cartoon series produced in Canada (as a Canada-France co-production) in 2004. [1] [2] It is based on the popular Belgian comic Boule et Bill. It has aired on the channel Unis [3] since 2015. It is the third animated adaptation, the first airing in the year 1960 on the channel Radiodiffusion-Télévision Française and the second airing in 2000 on the channel TFO. There is also a fourth TV series produced in 2006 that has aired on TOU.TV since 2014. [4]

It is distributed internationally be Dargaud Distribution, and copyrighted in 2004 by Dargaud-Marina and Bel Ombre Films and TéléTOON/TPS Jeunesse. It is a Tooncan XXIII Inc. production.

Crew

It is produced by Gaspard de Chavagnac and Paul Cadieux. It is co-produced by Patrick Dedieu. Administrative production by Judith Serfaty, assistant-produced by Ingrid Libercier and Jennifer Regent.

It is directed by Francis Nielsen, with additional direction by Francois Sasseville-Dargaud-Marina and Carine Neant and Muriel Achery and Didier Lejuene and Davia Orsatelle.

The graphics adaptation is done by Remi Lasfargeas of Acacia Studio - La Faktory. Also by Seahorse Productions, with artistic director responsible for design Serge Cicerone and Bernard le Gall supervising storyboards. The animation is done by Hong-Guang Animation Suzhou, with associated producer George Chang and assistant producer Mandy Le, coordinating producers Linus Lee and Sophie Huang, and animation supervisors SKinny Wen, Anthony Wang, Max Ma, Denis Du, Jack Zhou, and Sunny Sun.

Music is by Laurent Cayol, Francois Monfeuga, Jacques Bastello, and Olivier Lanneluc. Musical editing is done by Dargaud-Marina - Emi Virgin Music Publishing.

Additional work by Laurent-Christophe de Ruelle and Nathalie Coupal and Kun Jalabet.

Plot

The story focuses on a suburban family in Brussels in the 1960s.

<i>Lucky Luke</i> Belgian comics series

Lucky Luke is a Western bande dessinée series created by Belgian cartoonist Morris in 1946. Morris wrote and drew the series single-handedly until 1955, after which he started collaborating with French writer René Goscinny. Their partnership lasted until Goscinny's death in 1977. Afterwards, Morris used several other writers until his own death in 2001. Since Morris's death, French artist Achdé has drawn the series, scripted by several successive writers.

The Prix Jeunesse 9–12 ans is awarded to comics authors at the Angoulême International Comics Festival. It rewards the best album for a 9 to 12 years old targeted public. The award started in 1981 as the "Alfred enfant", without the distinction in age groups. In 1984, the named changed for one year to "Alfred du meilleur album enfant". From 1987, distinction is made between the age categories. This award is then called "Alfred moins de 12 ans". In 1988, the name changes to "Alfred du meilleur album jeunesse". In 1989, the name changes again to "Alph'art Jeunesse". Between 1991 and 1995, the distinction between the two categories disappears. In 1996, the name changes to "Alph'art Jeunesse 9–12 ans".

<i>Oggy and the Cockroaches</i> French animated comedy series

Oggy and the Cockroaches is a French animated television series created by Jean-Yves Raimbaud for Gaumont Multimedia and Xilam Animation. The series chronicles the exploits and adventures of Oggy, a blue cat whose life is constantly interrupted by three cockroaches – Dee Dee, Marky, and Joey respectively – who love to cause mischief within his home. The show employs silent comedy: characters either do not speak or use unintelligible vocalizations and gestures. The show premiered in September 1998 on France 3, and later expanded internationally. The series ended in January 2019, having released seven seasons in over two decades.

Boule et Bill is a popular comic, created in 1959 by Belgian writer-artist Jean Roba in collaboration with Maurice Rosy. In 2003, the artistic responsibility of the series was passed on to Roba's former assistant Laurent Verron.
