Thomas Hill Green, known as T. H. Green, was an English philosopher, political radical and temperance reformer, and a member of the British idealism movement. Like all the British idealists, Green was influenced by the metaphysical historicism of G. W. F. Hegel. He was one of the thinkers behind the philosophy of social liberalism.
Bowling Green State University (BGSU) is a public research university in Bowling Green, Ohio. The 1,338-acre (541.5 ha) main academic and residential campus is 15 miles (24 km) south of Toledo, Ohio. The university has nationally recognized programs and research facilities in the natural and social sciences, education, arts, business, health and wellness, humanities and applied technologies. The institution was granted a charter in 1910 as a normal school, specializing in teacher training and education, as part of the Lowry Normal School Bill that authorized two new normal schools in the state of Ohio. Over the university's history, it has developed from a small rural normal school into a comprehensive public research university. It is a part of University System of Ohio and classified among "R2: Doctoral Universities – High research activity".

Sandra G. Harding is an American philosopher of feminist and postcolonial theory, epistemology, research methodology, and philosophy of science. She directed the UCLA Center for the Study of Women from 1996 to 2000, and co-edited Signs: Journal of Women in Culture and Society from 2000 to 2005. She is currently a Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Education and Gender Studies at UCLA and a Distinguished Affiliate Professor of Philosophy at Michigan State University. In 2013 she was awarded the John Desmond Bernal Prize by the Society for the Social Studies of Science (4S).
Danny Julian Boggs is an American attorney and a senior United States circuit judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He was appointed to the court in 1986 and served as its Chief judge from September 2003 to August 2009. Boggs was on the short list of President George W. Bush's candidates for the U.S. Supreme Court.
WBGU-TV, virtual channel 27, is a Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) member television station licensed to Bowling Green, Ohio, United States. Owned by Bowling Green State University, it is sister to radio station WBGU. The two stations share studios at the Tucker Center for Telecommunications on the BGSU campus; WBGU-TV's transmitter is located near Belmore, Ohio. Unlike the radio station, WBGU-TV is not primarily operated by students at the university; however, the station does offer many different student positions that allow students to gain experience. WBGU is one of two PBS member stations in the Toledo television market, alongside WGTE-TV in Toledo proper. WBGU also serves as the primary PBS member station for the Lima market, as that market does not have a PBS member station of its own.

The men's ice hockey team competes in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA); men's soccer will move to the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) in 2023, following the MAC shutting down its men's soccer league at the end of the 2022 season. Bowling Green sponsors teams in seven men's and 11 women's NCAA-sanctioned sports and the football team competes in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), the highest level for college football. BGSU is one of only 15 universities in the United States that plays Division I FBS football and Division I men's ice hockey.

Ray Broadus Browne, was an American educator, author, and founder of the academic study of popular culture in the United States. He was Distinguished Professor Emeritus at Bowling Green State University (BGSU) in Bowling Green, Ohio. He founded the first academic Department of Popular Culture at BGSU in 1972, and is the founding editor of the Journal of Popular Culture, the Journal of American Culture, and the Popular Press. He also founded the Library for Popular Culture Studies (BPCL) at BGSU, the Popular Culture Association, and the American Culture Association. His particular area of specialization was American popular literature, and he was an authority on Herman Melville, Mark Twain, the popular culture surrounding Abraham Lincoln and the American Civil War, and the influence of Shakespeare on American popular music.

The North American Society for Social Philosophy (NASSP) is a non-profit learned society whose mission is to facilitate discussion between social philosophers on all topics of interest. Established in 1984, NASSP sponsors a peer reviewed journal, the Journal of Social Philosophy, hosts the International Social Philosophy Conference, produces a conference book series, and publishes a newsletter. NASSP also sponsors an annual award for the best new book on social philosophy, and organizes sessions in conjunction with meetings of the American Philosophical Association and the Canadian Philosophical Association. The Bowling Green Falcons men's soccer team is the National Collegiate Athletic Association NCAA Division I intercollegiate college soccer team of Bowling Green State University located in Bowling Green, Ohio. The team played in BGSU's full-time home of the Mid-American Conference through the 2022 season, after which the MAC dropped that sport. Bowling Green will join the Missouri Valley Conference as a single-sport member effective in 2023.
